I love The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, and I don‘t think anything could ever change that. However, reading this book again as an adult has given me a wildly different perspective on the characters. I hadn‘t read this since I was a teenager and I felt I got much more out of it this go around. Rice‘s vampires are truly the saddest vampires I‘ve ever read about. I‘m looking forward to continuing with my reread of the series after October⬇️

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm I told my husband I had a feeling I wouldn‘t be able to stop after this one. 😅

I loved this book!! Very short, but a great time. I had to read Fall of the House of Usher in college and I don‘t remember a lot, but I think this book did Poe justice. A nonbinary main character, fungi, and a ghostly mystery reminiscent of Mexican Gothic.

Haven‘t posted it yet, but my review will be on: https://www.rainyreader.com/single-post/what-moves-the-dead/

My first Grady Hendrix and I LOVED it! I especially enjoyed the design of the book to be like an ordering catalog. I do wish it had been longer, but I‘m glad it ended the way it did as well. The buildup was nice and I was glad Hendrix didn‘t shy away from the gore. A characters fingernail being ripped off “like a wet postage stamp” is exactly the kind of descriptive nastiness I live for in my horror.

I absolutely LOVED this book! Everything about it was wonderful. I loved how Gaiman wrote the characters and how he was ambiguous about who/what Silas was, but the reader still knows. I adore Bod! The ending had me choked up, but was still beautifully done. I‘ll have to hunt down the graphic novel version now!

Just got home a bit ago. Made some amazing food! Broccoli cheddar soup, Italian wine salami and a grilled cheese with two types of cheese! Gonna finish this book up. Got into the good parts as I was passing out. So gotta reread for full clarity! #halloweekend #warmfood #muchlove #almostnov
