I‘m enamored with this series. I feel it‘s higher-level writing than most novels in the crime genre.
This was such a wild ride (as the authors books usually are). The evidence was pointed at so many people. So many twists and turns.

My favorite of the series. Harry Hole continues his suspicions of Tom Waaler but they are required to work with one another on a new serial killer case. The story is great. In the past I have found this series to be a little confusing, but this book was perfect. I understood what was going on so that made me happy. I‘m ready to move on to the next book in the series.
This book was suspenseful, violent, and chilling (get it? get it? sorry, I couldn‘t help myself).
This was my first Jo Nesbø novel and I found it quite compelling. It was well-crafted with lots of false leads that he tied up well at the end. It did feel a little too crafted at times, rather than unfolding in the seamless, organic way a good mystery sometimes will, but maybe that‘s just me reading too many mysteries and recognizing the tricks.
I really like this description of how psychiatric diagnoses are made.
This is the best thriller that I've read in a while. This is also the 13th Harry Hole novel, and in this one, Harry is on the case of a killer obsessed with parasites. It is creepy, disturbing, and fantastic 🧡

This is my first Jo (pronounced kind of like You) Nesbø (pronounced Nesbur without the r), thanks to husband‘s Norwegian pronunciation guide. I point this out because the infamous Harry Hole isn‘t pronounced like Americans would. The book was very good & kept me interested. The ending was very good (quite complex) albeit very gory. However, I was confused by what happened with the “wacker” at the end, & no idea who the epilogue was about. ?
Well, that would be difficult to find someone‘s abode!
