I was a few books into this series before I realized there was a prequel, so now that I‘ve finished what‘s been published, I circled back to it. This is good entry point to meeting all the characters, and nice to see Molly and Emma meeting Pat for the first time. These are fun mysteries that get living in Hawaii right.
The DNFs on Blind Date books is 2 for 2.
DNFing this one because I'm not a fan of short stories, and literary fiction tries my patience; the two together are nothing but a recipe for shit reading for me.

Starting my second "Blind Date" book and hoping for better luck with this one ????
I think the novelty of Sarah Vowell has worn off a bit for me. I like her deadpan humor, but her monotone has begun to grate on my nerves. And while having a host of guest readers is nice, the little interspersed quotes just don‘t really “fit” with the flow of the book.
Holly & Ivy (yes 😆) have been besties for years. When Holly's fiance calls off their wedding she convinces Ivy to do the honeymoon while Holly takes Ivy's planned solo trip to an eco-cabin. Both come to understand some things about themselves &, of course, both find true love. But the real star of this show is their enduring friendship. And the descriptions of the scenery in Kauai & the Hudson Valley. I'm dreaming of visiting both places now.
This week I‘ve been reading this during my lunch break and it‘s been a little balm for me.
My at-home current read is a big hardcover I don‘t feel like hauling every day, but it‘s worked out for the best. A little dose of positivity to replace scrolling through heartbreaking fire videos.
❤️🐻 Sending love to all our Littens affected by the fires in California 💚🤍
This book was so much more than I expected. It was touchingly sweet, beautifully spicy, and a humorous romantic comedy read, but it had the perfect amount of real emotion & vulnerability to make this go from being a standard beach read to becoming a fully developed novel that would not let me go. If you enjoy the blend of humor & emotions that a rom coms like 50 First Dates had, than you will want to check this book out.
This was a very quick read, or should I say “listen” as I did the audio version. It was a very simple RomCom. No surprises. It was a pleasant story, but probably not memorable. It‘s hard to write a review on a book that was just pretty mediocre. It certainly wasn‘t bad.
One Sentence Review : An original and humorous read filled with character you will love and others you will love to hate, Pippa Grant will transport you to a destination wedding that will leave you giggling and wondering what the Bad Boy is really feeling behind his twinkling eye, quirky laugh, and seemingly completely carefree personality.
