I first heard about this book over a decade ago and finally decided to read it for my book club‘s May theme, “a book you‘ve been meaning to read for a long time but keep putting off,” after a friend highly recommended it. Read this for my book club‘s April theme, books/library. It‘s a short collection of quotes curated from C. S. Lewis‘s essays and letters, so probably not super interesting unless you‘re a fan of the author, which I am, so I enjoyed it.🔸#aprilreads2021 #LitsyATXReadersSociety #LARS

I read this for my book club‘s (#LitsyATXReadersSociety) March theme of espionage and thoroughly enjoyed the true, amazing story of Virginia Hall, an American field operative who arguably helped the Allies win WWII through the vast and meticulously curated network she built, person by person, in France. And she did all this with the perceived “disadvantages” of being a woman who had a prosthetic leg. Au contraire!🔸#marchreads2021

The Litsy ATX Reader‘s Society met today to discuss this month‘s topic: Books About Books or Libraries. I enjoyed all four of the books I read for it, to varying degrees. I think I actually liked the two non fiction best, which is unusual for me.

Recommended by several members of my book club, #LitsyATXReadersSociety or #LARS for short. It was also my pick for our January theme, “Read previously for LARS by another member.” I loved the openly curious and innocent questions of the author‘s young mixed-race son about race, religion, and culture. 🔸 #januaryreads2021

The December meeting of #LitsyATXReadersSociety is next Saturday, the 19th. Our topic this month is Graphic Novels/ Graphic Memoirs. I‘ve found a couple I really liked and I‘m looking forward to talking about them!
