This was an unusual pick for me but I ended up really enjoying it. I liked the interesting interpretations of magic, the mystery aspect, and it had just the right amount of horror (not much!).

This was excellent! Really enjoyed all the fascinating unique worlds Jemisin created. Lots of good ones in here that I will remember for a long time.
Finally finished this audiobook - seriously, who needs 100+ chapters?? A couple other minor annoyances, like a particular overused phrase, and a few really frustrating decisions (or lack of decisions...) on the part of the characters, but overall I really enjoyed it. An empowering twist on a classic fairy tale that was darkly funny.
Main reason I only go to the Alamo Drafthouse for movies!
Reading this book while taking the city bus for the first time. This city isn't known for its public transportation, but it wasn't bad! Maybe a bit longer of a commute than if I drove, but hey - I didn't have to drive, AND I got reading time in. Win win!
(No, I didn't leave my phone at home tho... maybe next time!)
A #wildbook for #30junebooks.
One I've started reading 2-3 times but haven't been able to stick with all the way through yet. Either I'm not getting the message or I'm just not ready for it yet 🤷♀️ gonna keep trying!

This book is so dark and yet so fun! Really enjoying the #audiobook version! #30junebooks

Finished today! Can't believe I've read 13 books from this series. They are just so reliably good (for the most part). This one has an interesting timeline structure and fun characters, and Mary is a bit more nuanced than usual. It picked up speed in the 2nd half, but felt like the author crammed in some of the best stuff in a rush (like, all the actual sleuthing!).
Scattered poetry
Inspiring my own haikus
An elegant touch
Found on a library used book sale cart, this was an entertaining albeit very bizarre read. I'm sure I missed a million Arthurian references in the midst of all the madness (demonic possessions, strange rituals, side snippets of another story, non-linear plot, competing narrators) but I still enjoyed it. It is *very* nsfw, which made me a bit nervous as I read it on an airplane!
I am maybe a little bit #obsessed with this series. I looove the audiobooks narrated by Nathaniel Parker and have listened to all 8 of them at least 3 times. Still working on acquiring all the paperbacks!

Have to catch up on #30junebooks as I was out of town for a bit! Here is a favorite #booksource - our beautiful Central Library (although my membership is currently expired 😅)

Not just an #oldfavorite but also my oldest favorite, and my annual Christmastime re-read. The embroidery cover edition is my latest acquisition, purchased at Orchard House when I went on the tour a few years back. The copy in front is the first one I received at the age of 10. So much 💖 for this book.

This short little #bookstack for #30junebooks is a stack of random, unsolicited book gifts from friends 😆 I tried to read Wizard's First Rule but just couldn't get in to it. Altered Carbon is definitely in the queue, and I'm not sure about All the Light we Cannot See... I've heard good things though!

For a book with so many elements I love - pirates, witches, magic, the Fae - sadly it didn't completely live up to my expectations. The main character is disappointingly flat, and Bedford's writing style is missing something I can't exactly identify...
Overall I'm glad I read it but I wish I had liked it better!
(Happily this tea is everything I hoped for 😍)

A fun one - nearly a blackout! I would have to check on that last one... I may have read all the books from one author but that would take me some time to verify! #bookwormbingo @EclecticReaders
Tagged book fits both the "book bought at airport" and "popular book I didn't enjoy" categories ?
#30junebooks Prompt: "J"
J is for Julie Morgenstern, who has been my #organization role model for more than half my life. Her systems are simple to implement, they make sense to me, and they WORK! I'm obsessed with #organizing and #decluttering books but I always come back to Julie.

For #30junebooks, my #underrated ones are anything by Tim Powers or James Blaylock. They have a similar style (and are friends IRL I think?), which some consider a precursor to the #steampunk genre as it exists now. Many of their older books are out of print, so I always check for copies when I'm shopping! Tagged book is in my top 5 faves of all time, I have given away at least 2 copies of it!

This book made me want to cook, so I did!
I listened to the audiobook, read by the author. It was a nicely paced story featuring interesting characters handling real life problems. I really appreciated the realistic depiction of a wide range of relationship styles. Don't listen to it while hungry!
Joining in for #30junebooks fun - this is my current "fun" read ? One day I too will have a house worthy of being featured in a Weird Homes tour!

Can I still do #hellothursday a day late?? 😬
1. Thin Mints. All of them.
2. The Fifth Element - it's wonderfully cheesy
3. I have no shame about listening to Artemis Fowl on audiobook for the 100th time.
4. Bubble bath + 🍺 + 📚
5. Did #4 on Wednesday, with the addition of a mermaid bath bomb!
Hi @JohannaRose and @Hooked_on_books !

Early start and a long drive this morning requires ☕ and a good audio read! Really enjoying this one so far.
#datenight reading! Really enjoying hearing recaps of The Martian as the bf is reading it.
A small but enticing library haul today! Been anxiously awaiting the release of Cal Newport's latest.
