so-soI‘m not the target audience, as I‘m about as far from having a green thumb as possible (I manage to kill even the hardiest ones!) & despite my deep love for #MurderSheWrote (referenced within the book!), #CozyMysteries aren‘t my go-to. Maggie returns to the small MA town where her grandmother raised her after the collapse of her marriage. Dodging a greedy cousin & persistent real estate developer, she finds a body & investigates! Too predictable!
pickJessica is invite to Mexico to spend some time with friends. The friends didn‘t get the memo that wherever Jessica goes murder follows (and I say that with lots of love because I adore Murder, She Wrote). Jessica has to sift through the clues to find the killer (and a kidnapper too). Fast read. I loved the cultural references in this one…a quick lesson in rural Mexico. #192025 #2005

pickLove this series! Perfect series to read if you loved the show. Terrie Farley Moran is the newest writer on the series and she‘s my favorite. Donald Bain was also excellent, but the few by Jon Land don‘t quite capture Jessica Fletcher‘s voice. #hauntedshelf #hexesandcrows @Catsandbooks
Just finished my latest adventure with Jessica, now I'm lost lol. I'm having the hardest time picking a new book to read and listen next (I usually have one audiobook and either one physical book or ebook on the go for different reading situations) and it's getting quite frustrating.

Happy 4th! Starting my afternoon starting my #seasonalcozies pick for July while grilling up some chicken breast to make chicken salad with later! Going to be a quiet day (my husband works for CBP and he worked 16 hours last night with another 16 hour shift tonight so he needs SLEEP) filled with books, grilling, some soft music, and a few drinks with my sister.
Today‘s prompt brings to mind a beverage I discovered on a honeymoon to Jamaica many years ago… a decadent chocolate martini, a rare treat.
2 Tbsp. chocolate syrup, plus more for drizzling
4 oz. Baileys Irish Cream
4 oz. chocolate liqueur
4 oz. vodka
Shaved chocolate or whipped cream (recipe for 2).
