I can‘t think of a better way to start the new year than a trip to my favorite bookstore #ParkRoadBooks to pick up this book that I ordered in December so it counts for #MountTBR this year. 😆

Apparently, @dsfisher and I have decided to make #booksinabox a #smallbusinesssaturday at #Parkroadbooks a tradition. Last year was the first time I‘d ever bought so many books at one time that I needed a box to carry the purchases home. We may have exceeded last year‘s stack. 😆😆 (actual haul in next post)

I decided I needed to own a copy of the tagged book, so I made a quick run to #ParkRoadBooks to grab one, and *might* have picked up a fun read to balance out the serious essays. 😆

This is a #blameitonlitsy purchase and the books referenced in Saturday‘s email from my local #indie #parkroadbooks. They‘re even more beautiful in person. 😍

I love my #indiebookstore #parkroadbooks. Sherri ordered all of the Ben Clanton books for me and found this accessible book on Emmett Till. Best of all, everyone shared my enthusiasm for Narwhal and Jelly and #nojudgement for the fact I bought them for myself. I don‘t have kids or even have nearby friends with kids. These puppets and books are all mine! 🤣🤣

I came back from vacation today to this lovely piece of #bookmail sitting on my porch, because I‘m a dumba$$ who thought I preordered the Kindle version from Amazon and a hard copy from my local #indie #ParkRoadBooks. No. I will have two copies once I picked up the other from #PRB. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Giveaway time, methinks.

Happy Independent Bookstore Day! I celebrated by going to my local #indie #ParkRoadBooks where if you spent more than $100, you got a tote bag and a $5 credit for a future purchase! Woohoo!

Today, I followed my bliss to my favorite place to spend my lunch hour, #parkroadbooks. Picked up my preorder (The Five - hooray for finally giving the victims a voice!!), a #blamebookriot book (If I Loved You Less), a book that‘s been on my radar since last year (Washington Black), and a couple of bookseller recommendations. Oh, and a cute tote bag and cards for #litsylove. I love #PRB and the staff there. ❤️#bookhaul #nofoodlunchhour

I‘m going to meet the author at #ParkRoadBooks on Thursday, so I wanted to read this account of the refugees she met and taught in Berlin. She gives a little history lesson, as well, of Jewish refugees fleeing Russian pogroms and it suddenly made me wonder...with the rise (again) of nationalism globally, could we see a repeat of the Holocaust?

Work book club was yesterday and I discovered one of my co-workers is like my reading soul sister, so we spent a lot of time today talking books. That, of course, gave me an overwhelming desire to go to my local #indie #parkroadbooks at lunch, and well...you see the results. Plus, they ordered three other books for me. 🤦🏻‍♀️ #bookhaul
