A solid and overall fun historical romance with a considerable amount of steam. I am interested in checking out more by this author. 3.5⭐️

On to the 15th book in the Sebastian St. Cyr series 🙂 I am also looking for a new series like this or like the Shardlake series. Let me know! Yesterday was an exciting day; I got accepted to a prestigious creative writing programme, and sent my first play to the first theatre. Here‘s🤞🏼 but I need to be realistic and wait for the coming “thanks, but no thanks” reply. Mixed feelings, mostly positive. #4Elisabeth #SeriesLove2025 #ShelfSweeper
I visited a new used bookstore in my area today, and this is what I bought. I'm seriously considering joining my state's chapter of the Jane Austen Society of North America. It just seems like it might be fun.
This is not a drill, America. Call congress today & demand staff at IMLS be reinstated. Hands off public libraries! #callCongress #defendlibraries

Really all you need to say is a reluctant Duke & a strong-willed Regency era woman and I am already a fan.
Add in some excellent side characters, beautiful writing, and it‘s a contender for favorite romance of the year 😻
I love that most chapters begin with a pertinent epigraph from Jane Austin‘s Pride & Prejudice!
Rosalyn Thorne,a “most useful woman”of discretion & societal connections,is hired by Bethany Douglas,an old school friend, ostensively to find her stolen pearl necklace.Bethany‘s multi-generational family, who reside with her, harbor many secrets.Rosalind, with the help of Dec. Adam, has to wade through questions of fraud, blackmail, forgery,& murder.
I am so enjoying this audiobook, a first in a series of mystery novels inspired by Jane Austen. Each chapter begins with a quote from Pride and Prejudice which suggests just what unfolds. #serieslove2025 #jumpstart2025 #Read2025
The Lily Adler mysteries, narrated by Henrietta Meire.
I've listened to The Body in the Garden, Silence in the Library, and Death at the Manor, all while cleaning and wrapping gifts etc, I very much love this series, although the narrator is ... fine. Not great, but I don't hate the narration.
This series has excellent rep, with characters you don't typically find in historicals.
