This is another solid entry in the Sebastian St Cyr series. It‘s one of my favorite series for a reason. Harris does an excellent job of blending historical events, such as the Allied Sovereigns‘ visit to London, and historical entities like the evil East India Company, with her fictional characters and murders. There‘s also a fair amount of social commentary that sadly applies to modern day life and politics.

I found this receipt tucked into the book I‘m starting today. I was confused by shipping charges from my local indie. I order online from them a lot but I drive the short distance to pick up my order when it‘s ready. Then I checked the date: April 12, 2020. It must have been one of the first orders I placed during lockdown once they were allowed to have one or two employees at a time working to keep their business afloat.

The fast-paced mystery and the political elements are present in this fifteenth installation of the Sebastian St Cyr. It is lacking on the character development. While not one of my favorites in this series, it is still head and shoulders above others in the genre.

I love this series. How do I know this? Finishing the newest paperback release in about 4 hours. That‘s how I know 😊 I strongly recommend the Sebastian St. Cyr series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just realized I‘m two days behind on my #12BooksOf2020 posts. My fourth 5⭐️ read was 15th (😳) in a beloved historical mystery series. Absorbing and intense.

A man thought long-dead is found murdered in London, resurrecting a decades old scandal that had rocked the city. Sebastian St. Cyr is called upon to peel back fact from fiction and in doing so uncovers a conspiracy stretching to the highest points of society. Book 15 in this series is full of twists and turns but it didn't feel as adventurous as the earlier ones. I miss a bit of that roguish outcast that was so core to the earliest entries.

This is one of my favorite series and the latest installment does not disappoint. This is #15, and I‘m still as invested in these characters and their storylines as ever. Can‘t wait for the next one!

1814 London 15th book in series but can be read as standalone. Sebastian St Cyr & his wife, Hero, are asked to solve the murder of Nicholas Hayes who was accused of murdering a French woman 15 years earlier. I learned lots of well-researched history about the East India Co and their opium smuggling & Napoleon‘s defeat. Unique characters & plot make for a book that held my attention all the way through. Thanks NetGalley and publisher. Recommended.

So ❤️ this series!! Another wonderful storyline with lots of rich historical detail and 4 possible villains. Harris has created a diverse cast of interesting, compelling, and flawed characters that you root for, cry with and feel invested in. This particular story involves a heartbreaking miscarriage of justice with elements of revenge, greed and corruption. Sebastian and crew sort it all out to end with a bit of hope and happiness. 5/5⭐️ Out 4/7

So normally I‘d try to spread out two of my favorite mystery series‘ newest...just so I can savor them. BUT both series have their newest coming out on the same date (4/7), so...I have to get them both read and reviewed with a deadline. 😱😔🤦🏻‍♀️
So it‘s back-to-back exciting anticipation for me...OH YEAH!!! 🤣🤣🤣🥳🤯
