Christmas holidays are rapidly approaching. Any one interested in doing some standalone Buddy reads over the Christmas holidays? Now is the ideal time to set them up so we have time to get hold of them.

If you are interested in this let us know by posting below & suggest a book or two you would like to Buddy read. Have tagged a few people but please share this and tag others. All welcome to join us. #ChristmasBuddyReads #Standalones #BookBuddies

Tove_Reads You know I‘m in! Just need to figure out books we can get. 2y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Yes trying to think of books. Always remember the Christmas Buddy read @eadieb did a few years ago of (edited) 2y

Tove_Reads Death by the Thames by Greta Mulrooney is read now on NG 2y
Tove_Reads Nicci French? 2y
Tove_Reads Been meaning to read The Snowdonia killings, but it‘s not a standalone 2y
PageShifter I am always down for BRs! I actually read everything so I am eager to read whatever others want to read. But best would be something wintery now 😏 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 How about this one which is .99 for Kindle on Amazon:
2y
Andrew65 C L Taylor has written a lot of standalones but not ready any. 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 I've read this one by C. L. Taylor: 2y
Andrew65 @EadieB Did you enjoy it? 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 I've read Don't Let Go by Coben. 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 The Snowdonia Killings does look good. @Tove_Reads (edited) 2y
Andrew65 How about some Mo Hayder? 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 Yes gave Before I Wake 4 stars. 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 I're read this one which I think is the same book as Tokyo:
2y
EadieB @Andrew65 I've read this one too:
2y
Andrew65 @EadieB It as the same as Tokyo, why do they give different books the same titles! What about Pig Island then, if you can get it. (edited) 2y
Andrew65 The Snowdonia Killings looks like one goer. 2y
Andrew65 @EadieB I really need to read more by her. 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 I've read 9 of her books. They are all pretty good. 2y
Andrew65 @EadieB Only the one we read together for me. 2y
Tove_Reads So, Snowdonia is a go then? @EadieB @Andrew65 2y
Tove_Reads Did we ever end up reading 2y
Tove_Reads Or how about historical fiction? Any suggestions? 2y
Tove_Reads Haven‘t read The Christmas Killer @EadieB @Andrew65 2y
Tove_Reads Works for me 2y
EadieB @Tove_Reads I just found some books by Mick Finlay 2y
Andrew65 Many years ago read the first book in the Matthew Hawkwood series which really enjoyed. Happy to read it again as want to continue series and forgotten it. Set in early day of Bow Street Runners. 2y
Gissy Yes! Let‘s what are the recommendations!🤗 2y
Crazeedi @EadieB @Andrew65 all Hannah's books are worth reading. Her early ones might even be better than her later ones 2y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi Thanks fir the recommendation 😊 2y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 if you come up with what you're doing let me know I might be able to join, not sure but hopefully 2y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi Will do. 2y
Clwojick I might be interested, depending on what book is chosen! 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 I have a copy of 2y
EadieB @Crazeedi @Andrew65 The Hannah books that I own that I haven‘t read are: Summer Island, Distant Shores, True Colors, Home Again and On Mystic Lake. 2y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Are you able to get hold of Pig Island and do you have any of Hannah book‘s in @EadieB ‘s post above. Other options at the moment seem Stay Close by Harlan Coben and either The Snowdonia Klingon and The Christmas Killer. 2y
Crazeedi @EadieB @Andrew65 I'll have to look at my goodreads to see what hannah books over read 2y
Tove_Reads Happy to read all four of them. I will most definitely read Stay Close and Snowdonia in any case. I can get hold of all Hannah books. In fact, I could read the four + one Hannah book, so just tell me which will be buddy reads 🙂 2y
Andrew65 @eadieb @Clwojick @Tove_Reads @Crazeedi @Gissy @PageShifter So the book choices are :

1. Stay Close by Harlan Coben
2. The Christmas Killer by Alex Pine
3. The Snowdonia Killings by Simon McCleave
4. Pig Island by Mo Hayder
5. A Kristin Hannah Book
2y
Andrew65 Let me know who would be interested in what book and we can set those ones up. 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 I would like to read 2y
Andrew65 @EadieB Works for me. 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 Ok great! 2y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 @EadieB from reading the blurb I dont remember reading that one 2y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 so I'm good for it!! 2y
EadieB @Crazeedi I checked on Goodreads and you didn‘t have it marked as read. 2y
Crazeedi @EadieB you're way ahead of me!! Lol 2y
PageShifter I want to read at least The Christmas Killer & The Snowdonia Killings. But I have those three others on hold now as well in case I can't resist 2y
Tove_Reads I‘ll read all five, but mostly interested in Stay Close and Snowdonia. 2y
eanderson @Tove_Reads I‘m definitely interested! I‘ve had the Snowdonia Killings on my kindle for a long time! 2y

LazyDays How did you like ? 5y
LazyDays Ive had it for a while now. Just can't seem to start it. 5y
merelybookish @LazyDays I loved it but was a case of right book, right time. She explores creativity and solitude while being married with kids. I found it helpful. 5y
merelybookish @BarbaraJean I know! It just sucked me in! @Cathythoughts Historical mystery is not my usual cuppa but Name of the Rose was a great read! 5y
merelybookish @Eggs I know! She feels a bit like a kindred spirit. 5y

Not just one of my favorite #standalones but also one of my favorite books of the year. The narrator for the #audiobook does a good job.
