Goodness knows I don't need to start another series, but I really enjoyed this adventure of Victorian London's "other"private investigator. Arrowood is the poor man's Sherlock Holmes, although he'd hate you for saying that. It's a solid mystery, starts as a simple missing person case, but branches out to a much wider conspiracy involving murder and mayhem. 4 ???? 1/2

Mummies are the best. 💖 It's my saint's day today and my family doesn't celebrate it, but we buy each others little gifts. I told my mum about this book some time ago and since @CrowCAH did her giveaway I look for a feather pen. Now look at this gorgeous pen my mum got me... 😍😍😍 This made my day. 😊

I enjoyed this Victorian Mystery. It was funny in parts. Arrowood is a lesser known dectetive than Sherlock Holmes. I figure this will become a series.

I enjoyed this Victorian mystery. Arrowood is an anti-hero. He loathes Sherlock Holmes, he is overweight, an alcoholic, and a complainer, but he has his redeeming moments. His partner, Norman Barnett, is the likeable part of the duo; loyal, smart, and troubled. I found the last 50 pages moved slow and some of Arrowoods and Barnetts choices left me frustrated, but I would have no hesitation in reading another of their adventures.

I'm back from Toronto and so happy to be home! A glass of wine, a couple chapters, then sleep in my own bed 😊

Taking a break from Copyediting textbooks to do some recreational reading tonight. Dipping into this one and enjoying the voice already 😊

Finally catching up on a prompt missed yesterday because a) I was too pooped to get to it before bed, b) it was too cold for ice cream. Tonight I'm on the balcony, its dusk, it's warm and I'm about to enjoy my Magnum White. #icecreamandbooks #riotgram
