I‘ve seen this book around for a while. Last week some school psychology colleagues recommended it, specifically for neurodivergent kids experiencing anxiety, so I decided to add it to my collection.
I‘m big on psychoeducation. If we understand how our brains and bodies work, we become empowered. This is a great book for older primary (elementary) school kids. It‘s great for all kids, not just neurodivergent ones.

This book is a powerful invitation to think about yourself and others from an intergenerational perspective. What unexamined ghosts lie hidden in our family histories? Through compassionate and insightful storytelling, Dr. Galit Atlas illuminates how unprocessed traumas repeat themselves throughout generations, and confronting them offers the possibility of change. 🎧

A quick read about very messy people in a very messy situation (largely of their own making).

I‘m not a completist (yet), but I‘ve loved everything I‘ve read by Didion. This was too intimate. None of our business. I doubt she would‘ve ever wanted these “notes” published, and I regret reading them. Still, her words are thoughtful. But this made me feel like a voyeur of her family‘s pain.
