4. Journaling. One night, I had a bad dream that had my ex bf in it. It scared me because he scares me so I journaled about it. Recently, I was asleep and a thought came to my mind that I‘d be hearing from my ex bf online soon so I journaled about this too. I have severe anxiety. Nothing has happened yet so maybe it was just my anxiety talking to me.

Everyday after dinner I study Spanish on Duolingo (451-day streak) for about 30 minutes, then I color while I listen to my audiobook (current audiobook is tagged). Then I‘ll switch to my ebook or my IRL book in bed before I go to sleep. I find having this routine helps me relax.

I like to sit in my sunroom and snuggle with my dog, be with the plants, drink tea, and listen to Yo-yo Ma.

I also do Sudoku, scroll on Litsy, and gab with a friend on the phone. I also like to watch British murder mysteries and Masterpiece Theater with my PBS subscription.

And then, sometimes, I have to get frustration and anxiety out by listening to death metal. If all else fails.

1. Read, of course!
2. Listen to rain or listen to silence. I prefer real rain, but I'll create my own mix on asoftmurmur.com.
3. Do word puzzles, especially crosswords.
4. Deep breathes: inhale for 4, hold for 5-7, exhale for as long as I can.
5. AVOID THE NEWS. If I can.

Relaxing for me, usually involves water somehow. Whether it‘s hydrating, taking a bath, skin care, crying, walking by a river or lake, swimming or floating in a pool, beach day even in winter or listening to the sound of waves. 🌊

I like to relax and chill with a book and a meal in a busy (but not too busy) restaurant or brewpub. I like the feeling of being by myself and at the same time amidst a group of people who are doing their own thing.

I also like to chill with my cat, though he doesn‘t always appreciate it! I like to relax and chill by taking drives in the countryside. But not in traffic!

I have a busy day tomorrow, so I‘m posting the #MentalHealthMonday prompt a day early. Feel free to respond whenever - mental health is important every day, not just Monday!

My favorite ways to relax and unwind - go for walks, listen to music, snuggle with my cats, spending time in the garden, reading, writing, etc.

CatLass007 Reading, spending time with the cats, crochet, listening to music, and watching “comfort food” TV shows like Bones or Firefly. I‘d like to say cross stitch helps me unwind, but I‘m a novice and I haven‘t gotten to that stage in my craft yet. 4d
