Ragtime takes place in turn of the century America. The blurb on Litsy calls it a mosaic, and that‘s what I remember from reading it twenty years ago - jumping between points of view in three different families, seeing personal revelations with a backdrop of the political and social events of the time. I thought it was a masterpiece and I need to reread it soon!

This is one of my favourite trilogies, a great Mystery and Suspense global story taking place against the backdrop of the Paris Peace Conference.

I don't know how they can keep saying guns aren't the problem, when you look at the statistics of gun violence per capita & compare countries with strict gun laws with countries without controls, the numbers are staggering. That tired old line "guns don't kill people, people do" is just a cop out. If those "people" didn't have easy access to guns, they couldn't do what they did. Simple.
