I had to Google for #UglyRomanceCovers, and this one isn't in the Litsy database, so I'm not sure it's even real. It looks like a game of The Sims gone horribly, horribly wrong. #BookLove17

So, #UglyRomanceCovers . I'm a fan of #romance and I'm not afraid or ashamed to admit however I will agree with some of you that the romance genre has a bad rap and that the covers do not help its cause. Can you say cheesy? The book in the pic is not my own (even I have my limits).

I don't read romance novels. So romance has to show up in other types of books. Case in point: this book. I'm pretty sure this is from the 1970s. I do enjoy legacy Wilbur Smith, particularly A Time to Die. Wow, what a book. Haven't read this one yet. But I have a ton of his books in my personal library. #uglyromancecovers #booklove17
I'm still depressed about this cover. I adored this book when I read it in high school (my high school library was one of the best) when it had a WAY better cover... however this is what book depository sent me 🙈 I may never summon the strength to reread.

A sword, a rose and resting bitch face? Not screaming romance to me. These are all pretty awkward. Back in the day we would kind of make fun of these covers when we were shelving. #uglyromancecovers
#booklove17 When I was a kid I started collecting Barbara Cartland books that I found at garage sales with my mom. I don't have them all nor have I read that many of them. Lol. I think the covers on these two are pretty ugly. #uglyromancecovers
I'm not sure if this is a real book or a screenshot from The Sims... #UglyRomanceCovers #BookLove17
