2nd one in the series. I love these kinds of books! Pretty good read.

I felt like I had to force myself to read this book, and I kind of regret it. I didn't care about the characters much, and the ending felt contrived. It may be common for thrillers to have liar MCs, but it felt in poor taste for Amelie to be lying about her complications from being a preemie. Not sure the broader messages about society meshed well with the horror elements here. #yalit #yahorror

This started slow, but I was certainly hooked by the end. All the ways structural racism affected the characters was fascinating, and I was never sure how everything was going to play out, even with the podcast interludes. Deserves the hype! #yalit #yahorror

This book is exactly what I expected with one thing I didn't quite figure out till the end. I had pretty good idea of the culprit from the beginning and their reasoning after learning more. I think the key to enjoying this book is in remembering that's it's YA. It was an easy listen and it had plenty of 90's slasher flick references. I enjoyed it despite figuring things out.
