Not too long ago comedian Scott Rogowsky ventured onto the New York City subway system, pretended to read some books with fake covers to draw attention from commuters. There were chuckles, whispers and frowning among them.

This coming-of-age novel is my kind of awkward. The movie based on this is an underrated gem. #awkwardreads #literaryluck
This book was my first thought for #awkwardreads partially bc the title made me turn it over on my desk when I took it to work for lunchtime reading, and second, because it has to be a little awkward to have a boyfriend in common with your child. (But I did like the story!) #literaryluck
