Day 10 of #30junebooks is SUMMER!
Here in #Tucson, summer means heat. And since everyone wants a nice air-conditioned place to hang out while the kids are outta school, Bookmans is BUSY all day, every day. 📚
I checked my employee recs shelf this morning, and it was totally empty! So I stocked it up with some fun, light summer reads, plus a couple of faves. 😍 I wonder how many days it‘ll be before it‘s empty again. 🤔 #behindthescenesatbookmans

Sarah's Key | Tatiana de Rosnay

We have a huge stack of SARAH‘S KEY in the back room. Plus I turn it down at least once every time I‘m on the trade counter. Plus I have personally thrown away several junky copies of it. WHY are there so many copies of this book trying to come to Bookmans?? 🤣 Was it that terrible? Did they just print too big of a press run? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Have any of you read it? #behindthescenesatbookmans

ravenlee When I was at BN this book flew off shelves, but mainly to people who only read a couple books a year (better than nothing, I admit, but not heavy readers). I would guess that‘s why it shows up at used book stores a lot. 6y

Making up a few of the many hours I missed post-surgery... and this lucky kid got to help me with inventory pre-counts this morning. She was really into it for like 30 minutes. And then not so much. 😬 Also, ahem fellow employees — she was pretty critical of some of your handwriting when checking prices for me. “That‘s a 5?? That looks like an S with a squiggle. How hard is it to write a $5??” 😂😂 #behindthescenesatbookmans
