These are the books that have been sitting on my tbr for a long time and was glad that I finally got to them. Pride and Prejudice is the most famous, but The Blind Assassin blew my mind. Atwood is a genius.

readordierachel I just picked up a copy of Blind Assassin! So excited. 7y
Gezemice @ReadOrDieRachel So good! I was unable to review it, I was so stunned. I have to re-read it! 7y
JSW Blind Assassain solidified Atwood‘s genius in my mind. (edited) 7y

Gezemice @JSW I have read several of hers and thought she was a genius, but this one was just sublime. 7y
eraderneely My mom stole my copy of Blind Assassin before I got a chance to read it 😠 But the woman did give me life and raise me wonderfully so I guess I can forgive this one transgression. 7y
Gezemice @eraderneely Lol! I guess now you have a reason to bug her! 😊 7y

This has been a decent year for making progress with the #TBR, so there are quite a few books I‘ve finally read this year! Gone with the Wind is probably the most notable of those—it had been on my shelf, unread, for at least 15 years! Silence is one I‘ve been meaning to read for 3 or 4 years, and I also finally discovered Agatha Christie this year. A good year for books I should have read before now! #allthebooksof2017 #bookyoufinallyreadthisyear

In this case, it‘s a whole series that I read this year. Last December, I set a goal for myself to finally read the Dark Tower series, and I got them all finished just before the movie came out.

Not sure why I waited so long...what an epic, amazing series. ❤️

Eugeniavb I reread the series before the movie, which then proceeded to disappoint me although I loved the casting. What did you think about it? 7y
sprainedbrain @Eugeniavb I am disappointed that they didn‘t give these books a more faithful adaptation, like the treatment Lord of the Rings received. I think they could have made a whole series of incredible movies that way... but, I knew going in to the movie that it was different, and I still enjoyed it for what it was. I loved the casting as well! 7y
Eugeniavb Hopefully they‘ll get around to making the tv show and move closer to a faithful adaptation of the series 7y

In 2017, these books went from the "I really should read" to the "why didn't I read this sooner?" pile. Enjoyed them all but especially Cranford ❤️.

LeahBergen Cranford will be coming up very soon for me (I swear 🤚🏻). 7y
merelybookish @LeahBergen You'll like it, I'm sure. It's like Middlemarch minus all the main characters. ☺️ 7y
readinginthedark I need to read Cranford! 7y

This book has been on my TBR ever since I read Middlesex a few years ago, which I absolutely loved.. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed and it has put me off from trying any other Eugenides.

AmandaL I finally read it this year too! But I really liked it. 😁 7y
Soubhiville This‘ll be the book I finally read next year 😊 7y

Animal Farm and The Bell Jar were both on my TBR for at least two years, but I finally read them this year. 😃 I also finally reread Harry Potter which I‘d been meaning to do for a very long time but for some reason had never gotten around to.

This is my #BookYouFinallyReadThisYear for 2017. Her stories and reviews from the 1920s and 1930s are fabulous, pointed, and sometimes snarky! I recommend this book to all! 💜⛄️❄️

PirateJenny There is an updated edition that includes some previously unpublished letters. 7y
