A Wrinkle in Time (Time, #1) | Madeleine L'Engle
post image

I read A Wrinkle in Time a million years ago when I was very young, but don't remember much about it. I bought the whole series for my boys recently so it seemed like a reread was in order.
I finished Memento last night and will finish this very shortly which will out me at 10/8 books for #bookfitnesschallenge !! Two books ahead of my goal, let's see if I can get in one or two more! #bfc

While most of my childhood books are long gone, I have managed to hold onto almost all of my L.M. Montgomery books. #childhoodreads #24in48

I‘ve purged my books so many times since moving out of my parents place that I don‘t have many of my #ChildhoodReads left, but I‘ve held on to this one. I have very fond memories of my older cousin reading me these silly poems along with Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark as kids.

Growing up my books were borrowed from the library. My parents didn‘t have the money to buy me books so my mom made sure to walk with me to the library quite often. I think I was in 5th grade when I chose to get my first HP book instead of a toy. My 4th grade teacher had read us the book, so I already knew I liked it. I‘ve read this series quite a few times and I read the first three books even more times. #24in48 #24in48reaathon #childhoodreads

RadicalReader @TheBookAddict no greater joy than going to the library which then the trip is over the top astounding when you get to check out highly cherished and beloved books 6y

The Complete Brambly Hedge is one of the books I have had since a child. The illustrations are beautiful and detailed, and the stories are sweet. I‘m pretty sure it was on the TV for a little while too... ☺️

Time for another photo challenge! This was one of my favorite childhood books. My first copy was a paperback that had a pale pink cover. I read it until it fell apart and then was given this hardback copy. I now own a beautiful slipcovered edition, but I can't seem to part with this well-loved copy. 🌻💚

GlassAsDiamonds One of my favourites that I keep meaning to re-read!! 😊😊😊😊 6y
IamIamIam I loved this book!!! I've read it more as an adult than I did as a kid! 😍🌹🌻💜 6y
GondorGirl @GlassAsDiamonds @IamIamIam I haven't reread it as an adult. I'm terrified that I won't enjoy it! 6y
IamIamIam @GondorGirl I thought Mary was a bit more of a brat than I did when I was young, probably because I'm a mom & wouldn't tolerate that, but she was really kind of left to her own devices. I really felt for her when I got going through it. The wonder of the garden isn't any different. 😍 6y
GlassAsDiamonds @GondorGirl so sorry for the late reply - didn‘t realize i was having notification issues! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I had an odd time of the first few chapters because of the portrayal of Indian characters but then we moved here. While it‘s not flattering, it‘s accurate in many ways (heavy reliance on servants even now & odd odd colonial/caste legacy doesn‘t always lead to behaviors that are predictable, there‘s a lot of fear driving actions here). 6y

I don‘t have most of my childhood books, but I think this is the one I‘ve clung too the longest. I love the illustrations.
