“There is no heresy or no philosophy which is so abhorrent to the church as a human being.“
Remembering James Joyce on his birthday.
Liked the story and how it ended. A relationship is something to work on if you‘re into it, let it go if you‘re not on the same page.
Containing over 60 installments of Anton Szandor LaVey‘s 𝑳𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒍 column, culled from rare 1960s and '70s tabloid newspapers, this thin book is a treasure of lost writings from the founder of the Church of Satan.

1. Yup, I can drive a stick. I learned on a huge Buick station wagon with “three on the tree” which definitely dates me!
2. Can‘t get better than Hunter Thompson and the Great Red Shark — and that dates me too!

“The one way of tolerating existence is to lose oneself in literature as in a perpetual orgy.”
Remembering Gustave Flaubert on his birthday.
I‘m not 100% enjoying this book. The main characters are book lovers in different countries who meet on a dating site. The interference of a meddling cousin (whom I LOATHE) who keeps setting her cousin up with inappropriate men. Who does that? The story is also set today, but reads like a much older book. Like the 80s maybe? Everyone is supposedly in their 30s or younger but well versed in classic lit, old b&w movies and letter writing. 🙄
