My first read every year is this slim epistolary collection between friends. I love viewing the progression of the friendship, and the ending gets me every time.
#SebastianKitty is kindly modeling the book for me. #CatsOfLitsy

St. James writes wonderfully spooky novels that combine the supernatural with people‘s fears. This one does not disappoint. I loved every nail biting moment. And, I‘ll avoid Atticus Line, thank you very much! #CatsOfLitsy #SebastianKitty #SundayBuddyRead #52BookClub24 #IncludesAPersonalPhobia
I just spent a month at Manderley…
This is a reread for me, and while I did not remember every twist and turn, I do remember the creepy vibes from this. It‘s a level of creepiness that slowly enfolds the reader and can make one shiver. That Mrs. Danvers…oh my! I loved it and am glad it was a #PemberLittens #HashtagBrigade read! #192025 #1938 #52BookClub24 #AnAbruptEnding

The latest in the Hamish Macbeth series is kind of a tie-in to events that happened in the previous book. Green‘s contribution to the series has made the narrative a bit more polished, which I think has made the characters and setting fresher and in some ways has revitalized the series.
I can tell I am that distracted that I forgot to take a photo of the book before returning it to the library! So, enjoy a photo of #SebastianKitty #CatsOfLitsy !
This was a fun romance with layers of humor & danger, not to mention some heavy topics. I liked Cohen‘s weaving of Austen novels into the story. There were times Vicky drove me a little crazy, but given the situation she faced from her family - having to #BiteTheBullet and marry - I‘ll give her a little leeway. Very charming. I was not sure what to think of this at first - the writing style, the construct of the narrative is very different than other mysteries. And yet, as the pieces came together, I was hooked. It‘s a really interesting puzzle that Thomas writes in homage of Sherlock Holmes. It also sets up the series. I‘m looking forward to reading more! #PemberLittens #JaneAdjacent

My January #BookSpinBingo list!
Anyone else have a hard time writing out 2024???
Sebastian was insistent on helping me present the list. His shadow makes it a little hard to read everything. #SebastianKitty #CatsOfLitsy
For a book about a lot of little nothings, like a Seinfeld episode, it is Pym‘s writing that kept me interested and focused. Wilmet, our MC and narrator, learns a bit about herself and life through the course of the novel and that life is filled with a “glass of blessings.” There are also parts to this that are surprisingly hilarious, as if Pym sneaks in a punchline. Another great read with #PemberLittens #HashtagBrigade #1958 #192025
Ready to dive into my copy of this month‘s #PemberLittens #HashtagBrigade book!
#Xander and #SebastianKitty are ready as well…they‘re just resting their eyes. #CatsOfLitsy
Admittedly, this took me several chapters to follow the writing style - I‘m way better at 18th & 19th century classics, not early 20th century! But, once I did, I found this an intriguing study on the class system in Edwardian England. Many of the characters are horrid, & I was not really a fan of Lucy, though she received the brunt of all of the clashes. I‘m glad I read this! #PemberLittens #HashtagBrigade
