“But I like winter. Winter is the truest of all seasons. It‘s what remains after everything else is stripped away. The leaves fall. The colors fade. The branches get brittle. And if you can love the earth, understand it when all the beauty is gone and see it for what it is, that‘s magic.”
I love this book and the author writes beautifully!
Happy Halloween 🎃
“Autumn is its own kind of magic; it reminds us of the beauty in letting go.” 🍂🍁
We woke up to this view this morning! Blue Ridge GA is gorgeous this time of year! 🧡🍂🤎
#LitsyLove
I love the allegory of seasonal magic in this book! The way she linked specific magic to human qualities was awe-inspiring. It can make a reader release their sorrowful, desperate hold on every seasonal change. It was such a transformative story, and I can't wait to read her other books.
Starting this one today! I had no idea this cover was so gorgeous! 💙🦋🧡
@AmyG gifted this one to me for my birthday 🥳 last year I think! 🤗
#LitsyLove
I have no idea where this year has gone! This is my list! I would love to read these by the end of 2024!
You can see that I‘m in a mood 🖤🧹🧙♀️💫

🌦️For centuries, witches have maintained the climate
👩🏼All hope lies with Clara Densmore, an Everwitch whose rare magic is tied to every season
🍁In Autumn, Clara wants nothing to do with her power
❄️In Winter, the world is on the precipice of disaster
🌷In Spring, she falls in love
☀️In Summer, Clara must choose between her power and her happiness
I burned out on YA tropes a few years ago and have avoided them as much as possible, so I was prepared to hate this book club pick before I even started. It has many of the things I dislike-a whiny, misunderstood teen protagonist, a sickly sweet romance, the savior who just wants to be normal, and sociopathic adults in positions of authority. But, I ended up enjoying the story and watching our heroine come into her own. Grumble, grumble. 😂
Listen to some Doctor Sleep for #losersclub on my little nature walk (found a monks hood cabbage) had some brunch and now settling in to Nature of Witches for #LMPBC Group W. Reading this magical realism book where witches are losing the battle in controlling climate disasters on a 91 degree day ..in Massachusetts ..in April *perfect*
🥵😳 there‘s not 1 shred of shade bc the trees have barely budded yet 😂
@Pigpen_Reads @5feet.of.fury I‘ve been under the weather so #LMPBC packages only went out to you this morning. Happy reading! 📦📚📬
Just like the last book I read, this had great worldbuilding but the rest didn‘t really work for me. I found the characters in this one frustrating and infuriating at times. (Sang is great though. A+++ love interest.) The plot also felt a little thin. I really think the information leading up to the critical revelation could have been fleshed out more.
Not a great start to my year or #AuldLangSpine reading! 😕 @MoonWitch94 @monalyisha
And now, time to start my #AuldLangSpine reading! I‘m excited for this one! @MoonWitch94 @monalyisha
Yay, I got my #AuldLangSpine list from @MoonWitch94 ! I can tell just from some of these titles that they‘re my kind of book 😁 I think I‘ll start with the tagged. It sounds very fun and one of my libraries has it available.
Thanks @monalyisha for putting the matches together!
I loved the romance in this book especially the romance the main character Clara had to find for herself. It was overall a very sweet book.
🎃The Nature of Witches, Go Hunt Me, Horseman, & Fear Street were all 3.5 ⭐️
🎃Autumn of the Grimoire 4⭐️
🎃One Night in Salem & Northanger Abbey were rereads.
Pretty solid month for me, considering the craziness.

I almost made myself late this morning opening all of my wonderful gifts! I wish I had taken a before picture bc everything was so carefully wrapped!
🧡Thank you, Lee, for your thoughtfulness. I love the books, & the crystals are beautiful! I can‘t wait to use the washi in my Halloween scrapbook. I thought we are so cute for both including a bit of home. I can‘t find koala candy here!
🖤Thank you @LeeRHarry and @sprainedbrain !

I really enjoyed this witchy coming-of-age YA novel. Clara is an Everwitch, whose power is at maximum strength year round, unlike other witches who only have maximum power in their birth season. The downside of having this power is that her magic is difficult to control, and seeks to harm those whom she loves best. I enjoyed watching her try to learn how to master this power, while also dealing with self doubt and fear. ⬇️
Read for #SundayBuddyRead 🧙🏻♀️🪄✨Witchy YA book that addresses climate change in a unique way. Clara is a rare “Ever”-a witch who gets her power from all the seasons & that great power has caused her devastating loss, making her want to deplete herself of it. There‘s romance & angst & global weather issues & it‘s a good October read. Kindle tells me there were 799 #ScarathonWordSearch words, so an extra 7990 points for #TeamMonsterMash + ⬇️
I enjoyed this magical world where witches draw their powers from the seasons. Clara is a rare Ever in that she connects to all seasons but can't control her powers and struggles under the pressure to help the witches stave off the effects of climate change #sundaybuddyread

4 ⭐️ This was a nice YA novel with a unique take on the issue of climate change, with some romance and a witchy spin. I liked that the reader discovers things alongside Clara, but also there are background stories that are revealed to the reader as well.

Overall I enjoyed this audiobook although it was a little YA at times. The elemental magic was really cool and I liked the journey of the young mc as she navigates her world and figures things out
#OminousOctober
Finishing this up tonight for tomorrows #SundayBuddyRead discussion and came across this #dusk quote.
“The sun gives up her place in the sky, and dusk settles over the vast field with a heathered shade of blue that makes everything feel peaceful. “
Not particularly ominous but beautiful and evocative.
#TeamMonsterMash 🧙🏻♀️🪄✨
I really enjoyed this book. At times it could be a little too ya. The magic system was cool. Each witch has a designated season which they are strongest in controlling except Clara, she is an Everwitch & has power through all four seasons but she can't control it. I'm really looking forward to the #SundayBuddyRead discussion @TheBookHippie

So enjoyed this YA novel that combines the forces of nature & the power of magic. Witches are trying to get the attention of shaders(non witch humans)in hopes of making them see the dire consequences of climate change. Shaders need to change their ways & work with the witches to,if possible, reverse some of climate change‘s present & future effects. Our group discusses this tomorrow. #sundaybuddyread #outstandingoctober #20in4 #litsylovereads
#Scarathlon2022 #ScarathlonDailyPrompts
Clara, the MC in this witchy YA novel, carries a lot of #guilt for the deaths of people she cares about that have resulted from her magical powers.
Looking forward to finishing this #SundayBuddyRead up this weekend. It‘s a good pick for #TeamMonsterMash points too. 🧙🏻♀️🪄✨🐈⬛👻🎃
