This book had such polarizing reviews I had to read it myself. It reads like a terrible coming out manual. it is also full of bad advice and cutesified crap like claiming a blow dryer fries your hair (blow frier).

Okay so I'm going to read this one. I don't need help with my curls, but people either think this is junk science or god's gift. Gotta see for myself.
this book is huge on diversity. this is about a young native girl who does not have hair like anyone else in the call. she wishes she has different hair but at the end of the book she realizes that she is unique and she learns to love her hair
I know it‘s hard to understand now, but just wait you‘ll see how amazing and different being different can be.”
I love this book. It may not be great for public schools because it references God, but it‘s great otherwise.
This teaches a great lesson about diversity. This also talks about a real problem that girls of different races may face, and it shows them how to value their individuality. Also, the illustrations are beautifully done.
