This is great. The story of the Beckett‘s marriage so far. While Kathleen is in the pool all day , we learn so much about these people. One of my favorite books this year, I think it‘s a perfect piece of writing, well done.
I‘m off to look up more by J Anthony.

BarbaraBB I liked this one a lot too. 1w
Cathythoughts @BarbaraBB Yes. So good. x 1w

I thought this was great. Kathy gets in the apartment complex pool one warm November day and refuses to come out. We then get her and her husband Virgil's versions of their courtship and marriage. My one complaint is I wish we had less of Virgil and more of Kathy. It is a fleeting character and relationships study, I can see why people would want more but I thought it was well written & well crafted. I'm going to look for more from the author.

BarbaraBB I wanted this story to go on longer because I enjoyed it so much! 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @BarbaraBB I would have enjoyed it longer, if there was more detail, but I also think it feels like a nice coffee chat book, like you just get some sketches highlights from each of them. I thought it was a great "things are coming apart" novella which I always enjoy. 1mo
sarahbarnes Glad you liked it! 😀 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @sarahbarnes I really did! I love a little woman melt down. I always find them so creative (and deserving) 1mo

Didn‘t hate it, didn‘t love it. I‘m confused on how to rate this short book. It takes place during the FMC day in the pool. One day. Yet it reminisces upon past years. The storytelling is unique, fascinating in an odd way, though it doesn‘t go deep. As of such, I just don‘t know how I feel about this slow around the bush way that we find out this great family is falling apart.

#MiddleGradeMarch #TBR #Pop prompt: author with three last names

They told us in August that our job was going to be outsourced overseas, so I'm in the middle of looking for a new job. I'm not sure how much reading I'll be able to do this month, but I'm going to try.

PurpleyPumpkin Wishing you great good luck in your job hunt!🍀 3mo
Butterfinger I am so sorry. 3mo

This held up to all the great reviews here - I loved it. A very creative approach to a story of a marriage and everything below the surface, which changes one day when Kathleen gets into a pool and doesn‘t come out.

Cathythoughts Sounds good ! I‘ve stacked it already. 4mo
Tamra I keep seeing such good reviews, I‘m going to try it! 4mo
