A day late but this is my #dumbandbeautiful character: Roy Gardner in Anne of the Island. "Dark, handsome and inscrutable" it seemed Anne's dream come true. But there was really nothing more to him. No sense of humor or wit. Day 23 #octphotochallenge
pickI'm a day late, but I didn't think of it until today. Turnip Fitzhugh is the most perfect #dumbandbeautiful candidate! He started out as just a silly side character, but then Willing gave him a mystery and a romance and it was one of the sweetest and funniest stories in this series! His heroine's bittersweet, passed-over character type reminds me of Anne Elliot a little, which also helped :) I'm due for a re-read this Christmas! #octphotochallenge

Nyra is the #dumbandbeautiful leader of the Pure Ones (yes you can probably guess the human analogy) who shows up in The Siege in the series but in the movie version even though the movie is all out of order. You have to read the series to understand why I consider her dumb, too. Excellent series with many literary references and a gorgeous nod to Ray Bradbury. Love love love this series. #octphotochallenge
The strong Archie Brock challenges the notion of intelligence and lack of intelligence. Throughout the book, though his IQ isn't considered high, he constantly forces us to question the label of dumb society forced onto him. My personal non-spoilery bottom line: be proud to be you, and ignore others putting you down!
