This made me laugh. I wonder if that's been there since 1963 or if it's been added to new editions to help the post-internet generations. 🤔😁

I loved this series as a kid and really enjoyed revisiting the first book for #EBBR. I had the entire series and both of my kids read them when they were younger. Such a fun series and format.

Loved these as a young person, had forgotten about them until @Ruthiella started #EBBR (thanks) and I still do!
Encyclopedia Brown helps his father (police chief) solve crimes, and sets up his own detective agency. Very short stories where the reader is asked to figure out how the crime was solved. Really good read for young people (5th or 6th grade maybe) interested in detective stories.
Make a great day everyone 😊
I was able to get the 1st book from the library just in time for #EBBR
I have never read or heard of this series, but I am looking forward to reading it and others in the series.

Encyclopedia Brown Buddy Read
Tagging those who expressed interest in revisiting or discovering this children‘s detective classic by reading the first book in the series in February. I‘ll check in with you all around mid month to see how we fared matching wits with the boy detective!
All are welcome. 😊 If you are interested and would like to be added to the tag list, let me know.

Since it's also Throwback Thursday, I'm going old school with my pics. Here are some favorites from my youth:
1. Encyclopedia Brown - I even had a little crush on Leroy. 😍
2. Nancy Drew - A teacher recommended I graduate from Encyclopedia Brown and get into Nancy Drew.
3. The Boxcar Children - An old family favorite that my Aunt shared with me

I read this series when I was young and it brought out my love for mysteries, detective stories and even series reading.
My daughter fell in love with them as a kid and is a big reader of many genres but loves mysteries the most.
