Oh yes, Shea is definitely best experienced in the full rainbow. I love that Unicorn thinks Goat is pretty great, and Goat thinks Unicorn is pretty great, but there is something a little concerning about Unicorn putting himself down in the same breath that he's admiring Goat's qualities. Goat thinks Unicorn is great, but does Unicorn know that? Unicorn seems like a happy beast, so I assume I'm reading too much into it. 1/2

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 Just trying not to pass denigrating self-talk as a compensatory social maneuver onto the next generation. 🤷🏼‍♂️ There's a sequel to this book, so maybe that talk is resolved in the next book. Happy to go on reading colourful Shea adventures. 3w

#HumbleHarvest Day 17: Not really #Corn but Uni #Corn. Things were going just fine and dandy for Goat until Unicorn moved in. Goat thought he was pretty special with his bicycle, nearly-perfect marshmallow squares, his signature dance moves. Then Unicorn with his shimmering flight, his storm of cupcakes, and professional prancing moves continually steal Goat‘s spotlight, albeit without really intending to. This adorable and vibrant RF book discuses themes of friendship, jealousy, and individuality with differences! With the world continuing to accept and embrace differences every day, this book is perfect for all elementary grades, as it is a pivotal theme we want our students to understand.

Due to the two characters going back and forth through out the book with it ending in friendship and embracing differences in one another, it would be perfect for students to read together and discuss their differences as well as what makes them, them! 5y

I was easily transported back to NYC late 1980‘s before cellphones, Google and those early days of the AIDS epidemic when there was so much paranoia & misinformation. First half of book was stronger than the second half but still plenty to unravel. A young girl secretly befriends her uncle‘s partner after he passes from AIDS.

This F story would be a great storytelling for young readers. It is about a spoon and how he compares himself to his other friends like fork and knife. Little does he know they admire him for what he does. He learns at the end all of they things he should be grateful for. The UDL Principle I would choose for this book is (3.2) highlight patterns, critical features, big ideas, and relationships. This will help students through the story.
