I‘m reading Eva Ibbotson by treelight tonight.

This collection is mixed. Most of the pieces are affecting, but several of them have unpleasant gender dynamics that mar otherwise interesting setups. The offputting comments all come from male POV characters, so I think maybe Ibbotson‘s modelling period attitudes in a less successful way than she does in her novels.

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.

Eva Ibbotson: perfect for rainy days like today, sunny days, cold days, dark days... Basically every single day. She's been my favourite author ever since my primary school offered us a free book in 2002 and I chose Journey to the River Sea. My dream is to one day own a copy of every book of hers. If you like romance, strong women, or adventure I definitely recommend giving her books a try!
