A #truestory about the lives and struggles of the #Annawadians (people living in the makeshift #Annawadi #slum near #Mumbai airport). It's definitely an #eyeopening story for me. To the Annawadians, everyday is about #survival. Though I enjoy the story but honestly I struggled to finish this book. I felt the writing was clunky and boring in some parts in which I just had to skim through those pages.

A #graphicmemoir of the early years of the #Vietnam #war from the POV of a young boy named Marco. There are not many books out there about Vietnam #history and since this is my first read about Vietnam, it's an #eyeopening one for me. I enjoy the #illustrations and the story though it was confusing at times. #nonfiction #bibliophage #memoir #bookworm #booknerd #bookstagram #librarybooks #readforlife #philomath #read150 #calgarylibrary

#Memoir of #tingxingye who grew up in #China during the #CulturalRevolution. She had to work in a #prisonfarm and endured #hardship and #oppression during her time there. It was an ok read for me as I didn't particularly enjoy her writing style, and at times find it confusing. Nonetheless, I do appreciate her courage on sharing her experience in the prison farm and it was an #eyeopening one for me. #nonfiction #2017TBR #chinahistory

What does #autism feel like? Why do they have #meltdowns and panic attacks? All these and many more things are told and explained from the POV of a 13 years old #autistic boy. It's definitely an #eyeopening book.
