dabbe Perfect haiku for the start of the school year. My district started this past Monday; can you believe it? 🩵💙🩵 1w

JenlovesJT47 @dabbe the past few months have completely flown by! Not looking forward to the epic traffic jams by the house once school starts (there‘s a private school right down the road, then the high school a little further 😵‍💫). Time flies! 🩵🩵🩵 1w
julieclair I love this! You find the best graphics to go with your excellent haikus. 1w

This book celebrates those of us who believe that we should “dance in different disciplines”, meander in experiences, and not confuse a too early obsession with grit. In a time where year round and travel team youth sports have taken over, this is a testament to the value of learning and thinking from a wide range of disciplines and perspectives. Great book!

Good messages to help professionals, parents, teachers and kids not get stuck in positive or negative mindsets, either of which can cause people to be stuck and stagnant in life.

Ballots were often printed in newspapers: you'd cut one out and bring it with you. With the turn to the secret ballot, beginning in the 1880s, the government began supplying the ballots, but newspapers kept printing them:; they'd use them to conduct their own polls, called "straw polls." Before the election, you'd cut out your ballot and mail it to the newspaper, which would make a prediction.

📚 I read 2 new favorite books this month, Death of the Author and North Woods.

🔮 Labyrinth: Coronation is the first library book I‘ve read in awhile!

🍏 Because I Had a Teacher was a gift from a special student.

📚 Good reading month!

Really interesting book about learning techniques that seem counterintuitive like mixing up topics and taking a lot of breaks. I found out some of these when I read Make It Stick, a while back. Worthwhile!
