My Darling Husband | Kimberly Belle
post image

Jade is a very well-kept Buckhead housewife and her husband Cam is a super star chef with multiple restaurants in Atlanta. As she is taking her kids home after school, someone is in her house, and he holds them hostage. I really thought this book would not hold many surprises for me, y'know, bad husband does bad things and family has to pay for his stupid mistakes. BUT, this novel had some tricks up it's sleeve and surprised me in some good ways

The Whittiers: A Novel | Danielle Steel

Pickpick

Steel seems to love writing about large families. In this one, Preston and Constance Whittier, parents of 6 adult children, enjoy winter ski trips for just the 2 of them. But this one ends in tragedy and all the children reunite at the Manhattan mansion where they grew up to pick up the pieces…

Steamy, yet heartfelt. You feel the struggle between two characters as they desire each other so deeply, but they balance their passion with protection for the ones around them. Great read!

A heart-wrenching tale of motherhood, friendship, love, and the strength of women set in the 1970s. The story follows Ginny and Ab, a couple whose seemingly perfect life masks deeper issues. When Ginny gives birth to a daughter with Downs Syndrome, the child is whisked away and placed in an institution. Years later, when Ginny discovers the institution may be unsafe, a fierce maternal instinct drives her to action. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 ❤️📚

Bailedbailed

I started this book on audio and didn't like it, especially the female narrator. Her voice grated on my nerves. I switched to the ebook but still didn't like the story. So I bailed at a little over 50 percent. #HailtheBail

TheLudicReader I have only read one book by Douglas and it was vile. Dark romance my ass. It was misogynistic garbage. 🙄 4mo

I got the sudden urge to reread this one for the third time 🙃
It's such a lovely story about family and grieving for old relationships while building something new. The father-son connection is just as important and I love the new understanding and acceptance that they cultivate within their small family 🥹 The romance between Luke and Landon is also so sweet as they go tentatively from friends to more

I‘m running out of Chamberlain‘s backlog… I only have a few left that I haven‘t read/listened to! This one, set mostly in 1993, has a somewhat timeless feel (other than the lack of phones, really). In one year, two estranged sisters on opposite ends of the country deal with their past. The romance angle for Claire feels a bit awkward at times, but the fast pace and way the past unfolds makes this a riveting listen that hooked me from the start!
