pickFitting end to the series. Epic fantasy with a bit of everything. The ‘big‘ battle scene is definitely Tolkien- like, but the author did say it‘s her homage to him with some more diverse characters!

bailedThe problems of Dark Rise persist in this one and it‘s a tad larger. Number one issue being very, so beyond slow. And when you‘ve figured it out well in advance, the slow plot becomes tedious. What characters I did like, weren‘t going anywhere and it was quite circular.
I wanted to like it, but it just wasn‘t jiving.
pickThis was a truly amazing ending to an EPIC series. This book who had my heart racing from beginning to end. It was an INCREDIBLE read. It had one of those endings that just makes you go WOAH when you read the last sentence. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

panThere are threads of an idea but it was poorly executed. It seemed the author was trying to explore the concept of fate” but it came across as a cheap plot device. Combined with a lack of world-building, poor pacing, flat characters, and predictable plot with no real purpose, this was a disappointing read. I basically skimmed most of it just to finish it & get it off my shelf.
