I mostly enjoyed this large tome with the exception of Edward worrying about his stalking Bella/refusing to turn her into a vampire, only because I wanted him to!
My dumb ass thought this Edward POV covered the whole series but it only covers Twilight, from his POV. If you didn‘t know that, you‘re welcome.
A decent historical romance with a unique premise that was a quick and easy read. It contains, however, the slimiest, most repulsive antagonist I‘ve run across in a long time. For anyone who‘s old enough to remember the Eddie Haskell character from Leave It to Beaver, think Eddie on steroids 🤣🤣
Need & desire in an unlikely, fragile friendship. Reluctant trust, identity, vulnerability, recovery in two outsiders finding each other. Rather gentle for Han Kang. Trans. 2019
13 “Her songs slid the bolt from across my heart and my craving stepped out into that dark, run-down alley to look me straight in the eye.”
28 “The majority of people live out their lives with much the same color and form, but some change their bodies several times over.”
I loved Edward's POV, but this was sooooo unnecessarily long!
Approaches to grief: 1) screaming at trees, 2) leaving voicemails for the dead. Slim volume, sparse and deadpan. Solid trans. from the Dutch by Jozef van der Voort. 2020
9 “One guy I spoke to suggested I get some therapy. What kind? I asked. I didn‘t dare tell him I‘d already tried just about everything and my last therapist and I had both given up in the end.”
11 “I had no time at all for a lot of things that happened all the time.”
