“Instead of focusing on what Victor cannot do, the book celebrates who he is as a person and friend. It teaches readers to see others for their abilities and personalities, instead of their limitations.“

I know it's past Halloween but I don't care. This book was too freaking cute! Little ghost is lonely in the abandoned house and wants a friend. A new neighbor moves in. Can the ghost make a new friend or scare her away? Adorable graphics and a lovely story.

Silas and Ellen captivated my interest throughout the story due to their varied characteristics. The various situations that have led them to where they are in life.

Human ties are central to the plot. Relationships are hard and confusing. Forgiveness, grieving, and moving on are difficult. However, it conveys a sense of hope that things will improve.

This is heartwarming and lovely. A little ghost lives alone in an attic until the little girl downstairs encroaches on his territory. Slowly, he comes to realize that having a friend is not so scary after all. I really liked the charcoal illustrations.

“He was born on an island far away where imaginary friends were created.”

This story follows Beekle, an imaginary friend who sets out to find the child who will imagine him. In the classroom, the book is useful for exploring themes of friendship, courage, and belonging. It can spark discussions about imagination and creativity, while also encouraging students to write or draw about their own imaginary friends or the friends they‘d like to have.

In The Adventures of Beekle, the art is carefully organized through bold colors, shifting perspectives, and imaginative shapes. The contrast between the gray, muted tones of the “real world” and the vibrant, whimsical world of imaginary friends highlights Beekle‘s journey. The illustrations deepen the meaning by showing his loneliness, bravery, and eventual joy in finding friendship.
