I was (finally) drawn into this series by the netflix adaptation. Death is such a fantastic character in both mediums, so how can this not be the best thing I read in Feb?

pickBeautiful, a fitting amount of dark and sad. I feel like it says something about Gaiman that his Death is more approachable than his Dream. Or maybe it's just a reflection of humanity's hope to greet Death as a friend. The art gallery at the end is stunning, those artists who chose to keep her slight smile worked best for me. The sex ed mini comic is such an amazing thing to see included. The rep and the topics covered: ❤️.

pickMy literature hot take is that the sandman comics should be read alongside great epics from every period of history as the best modern answer/version/equivalent of a great complex epic myth cycle. Rereading the series again is just making me more and more sure this is one of the best things ever written like it‘s just sublime (and sad and dark and spooky)
