Let‘s talk about TBR backlists! All of these books have been sitting on my bookshelves for quite some time begging me to read them, but for various reasons I haven‘t done it yet!

Silvertongue I feel you on the TBR backlist! Angela‘s Ashes, The Jungle and Don Quixote are ones that are really nagging at my on mine. Good luck on your goldfinch read! A book read sounds like a great idea to finish those tough titles. I read the Secret History and Alias Grace last year and adored them both; hope you find luck with them too! 5y

valeriegeary I can highly recommend both Atwoods and the Secret History. I think I need to read A Little Life before I die but for some reason it intimidates me. 5y

Emilymdxn I was really excited for Goldfinch and A Little Life and wound up really not liking either 😓 it‘s a hazard of spending a long time looking forward to a chunkster book! Hope you like them all tho! I adored secret history 5y

sprainedbrain All of the books on your chair are worth reading, but I definitely preferred The Secret History to The Goldfinch. 😃 My backlist is so bad... but my BOTM shelf is the worst. I have 25 of them yet to read, and it‘s been a year since I cancelled. 😳 (edited) 5y

I thought this book was stunning.It felt important, like a classic that everyone should read.📖

I'm not sure it's my new favorite, but there was a lot that I liked; The writing is gorgeous, and I'll probably never forget the characters. 💖
But then also, I didn't like the time jumps and the ending was weird to me. 🤷‍♀️
Overall I'm glad I spent allll those hours on this book😁

I'm only about 200 pages into the Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and adoring every chapter. Where has this book been all my life? I've already read 'The Secret History' by her and her writing style just leaves me speechless... Have you read anything by Donna Tartt?
