Bring Me Back | B A Paris
Mehso-so

2/5 - I have to be honest - I didn‘t really enjoy this one! I have to give props that I was able to finish it in only one day, but that‘s about it. I disliked the characters, I disliked the plot, and I really disliked the ending. Ugh, I‘m moody about it, but I think it‘s because I really liked The Breakdown (by the same author), but this was just ughhhhhh. Not for me.

I See You | Clare Mackintosh
Pickpick

3.5 or 4 stars- I See You was a creepy, realistic thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. Some of the twists in this one were a bit more predictable than they usually are in her books, but I still hung on to every word, anxiously waiting to find out how it would all turn out.

The Other Mrs | Mary Kubica

Pickpick

Happy Pub Day to The Other Mrs! Thanks to Park Row Books #partner for my gifted arc. This was a FIVE STAR book! The suspense was great, but most importantly the twist fooled me (and that can be difficult when I read so many thrillers!). Highly recommend and available wherever books are sold TODAY!

Despite reading a lot of mixed reviews for this one, I ultimately really liked this book. Yes, I agree she didn‘t always make the best decisions and yes, she only partially acknowledges this, but overall I found the book to be interesting and uplifting. I recommend it!

Hooked_on_books I thought it was good, too. And I have yet to meet a person, regardless of socioeconomic status, who always makes good choices. 5y

The Cheerleaders | Kara Thomas
Mehso-so

Meh, this was a bit slow for me. I picked it up and put it down for over a year before I finally finished it. It wasn‘t my favorite, but parts were suspenseful. #thecheerleaders #jpbookreview #minireview #bookreview #review #thegreeneyedreader

LibrarianRyan I agree. I thought it could be so much better 5y
Erinreadsthebooks I tried and didn‘t get very far before I put it down. Wish it was better, so much potential but it just fell flat. 5y

4/5 stars! Highly recommend. I didn‘t know a lot about Ali Wong besides seeing her in Always be my Maybe, which I loved. I watched her two Netflix specials in preparation for this book, Baby Cobra and Hard Knock Wife. I laughed a lot. Some parts of sort of raunchy, but I still really enjoyed it. Even the parts that weren‘t funny were interesting. I even really liked the afterword written by her husband. Audiobook was good too! #jpbookreview

Starting my 5th book of 2020. I‘m about 1/4 of the way into this one, and I‘m already jumpy. This atmospheric thriller is perfectly creepy so far! Have you read this one? What did you think?

2020 books read:
Becoming. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You are Not Alone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Family Upstairs ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The First Mistake ⭐️⭐️⭐️

UnabridgedPod I really liked this one! I listened (via Scribd) and though the audio was excellent. 5y
JacqMac It‘s in my library stack. I‘m looking forward to it. 5y
Mccall0113 Meh. Lack luster 5y
MyNamesParadise I listened to the audio and I found it to be really long and drawn out. It wasn‘t suspenseful to me. 5y
Jess7 Update: overall — this book was just ok. It felt pretty drawn out, but that said, I liked the ending. 3 or 3.5 stars. 5y

The First Mistake | Sandie Jones
post image

Currently reading and listening. Anyone else switch back and forth between audio and ebook? This one is ok so far.. I didn‘t like how part 2 felt extremely long, boring, and disconnected from part 1. Part 3 at least connects the two previous parts, but the main character, Alice, annoys me. Has anyone read this? Did you like it? Does it get better? (I‘m at about the 75 percent mark)

Tianarose I switch between audio and physical books. I dont like e-books 5y
Marni I switch between too. And physical books. All depends what I can get my hands on! 5y
trueisa4letterword I switch between ebooks and physical books usually. Lately, I find myself trying ebooks on Libby before checking out the hardcover from the library. 5y
Mrs_B I seem to always have one of each on the go too, glad it‘s not just me. Audiobook for chores and commuting, ebook for sofa reading time! 5y
