A modern retelling of Shakespeare's Macbeth. It was a very slow build and not overly original. Macbeth is head of SWAT. Duncan, the police chief commissioner, is his boss and Lady runs the Casino and convinces Macbeth to "kill the king". Not love for me because it was painfully SLOW.

This modern day retelling of The Taming of the Shrew was a fun romp! I have never seen the movie with Mr and Mrs Burton, but I must say these costumes have enticed me to look for it! #hogarthshakespeare

My second #HogarthShakespeare read- Hag-Seed by Margaret Atwood was the other. As a Kate, I have an affinity for Shakespeare's surly Kates. Here, Kate Battista is like a grown up Daria Morgendorffer.

This is my first Atwood (!!) and it was fantastic. Literally. The play within a play (within at least one other play, if not more) was hugely satisfying, unreal and hyper-real at the same time. I also value the sympathetic look into the mind of a person suffering from extreme depression and delusion. Highly recommended. #hogarthshakespeare #tempest
