My husband & I just caught up on the latest season of BOSCH: LEGACY, & made me miss listening to this series, so I looked up where I had left off and was delighted by the coincidence that it was the same book that much of season two‘s plot was based on! There are plenty of differences between the show and books (mainly the ages and the fact that some characters were killed off in the book and not the show), but still enough similarities to be fun!
I bought this from a small selection of books at a supermarket and hadn‘t heard of the author despite him clearly being famous! I enjoyed it, he really projects a sense of place, and of a legal system which to non-US based readers is like a whole other world. Fast-paced and engaging.
Mickey Haller (the Lincoln Lawyer) represents a woman who had been convicted of killing her ex- husband, a police officer, 5 years before. She insisted that she was innocent, and with Harry Bosch's help, they decide to take her case.

Shocking but true, couldn‘t find the next Thompson though as you can see, I own several! I didn‘t put Karin Slaughter in these stacks ,yet I read 3 last year.😁🤷♀️ Thanks to @TheSpineView and @Andrew65 for hosting!

Michael Connelly writes novels of consistent quality. They're not astounding works of literature, but they're good stories, and I always pretty much know what I'm getting when I open the cover of one of his books (or put on my headphones, in the case of audiobooks), which is a comfort. I like that this one shows some evolution in Haller and Bosch's characters. As always, I look forward to his next book.
This is the lower end of the pick scale for me. I just found some of the events so improbable. There were also some things that neither Mickey nor Harry noticed, and I found the fact that they didn‘t notice these issues to be ridiculous. Overall though, I liked the story. #audiowalk
