I‘ve been listening to the audio books read by John Hopkins and I‘m loving them. These are the books that the Midsomer Murders are based on, but much more detail and depth than the tv series. This is the third in the series and I‘ve just started the fourth. Absolutely loving these mysteries read aloud to me.
One more book read in November…book two in the Inspector Barnaby/Midsomer Murders series. How delightful! You can just feel how exasperated Barnaby is at times when questioning suspects - John Hopkins does an amazing narration! If you‘re a fan of the TV series, I highly recommend the book series! #192025 #1989
I love Midsomer Murders and have been dying (no pun intended) to read the book series upon which the TV show is based. It was with great delight that I found them on Audible. This first in the series introduces the reader to DCI Barnaby, who is a bit more taciturn in print than he is on the show. The overall atmosphere is a bit darker than the show, but it works perfectly well. The voice narrator is wonderful, inflecting Barnaby‘s thoughts ⬇️⬇️⬇️

1) Don't make me choose between Poirot (as played by David Suchet) and Inspector Barnaby (as played by John Nettles). Both are firm favourites 💕
2) Fortunately, I'm REALLY BAD at working out whodunit. I love to try to figure it out, but the fun is in being surprised..
3) A new one? Any recommendations, fellow mystery-lovers?
A perfect step down from IT? Midsomer Murders. They‘re running out of plots after 20 years on TV, but this particular episode, The Scarecrow Murders, was pretty good. #mystery #murder #Scarathalon2021 #TeamSlaughter
Well, that was a weird, oddly specific little detail. “… a dead bluebottle fell on the usher‘s head.” It might be my occasionally weird sense of humor, but that line made me laugh.
Not feeling well, so I left work early and am now sitting here in bed reading the 3rd Inspector Barnaby book. I don‘t expect to need much concentration for it.
