#WeeklyForecast

I am making real progress on Tartt I really love the book but it is a slow read.
I started Cantoras since it needs to go back to the library it is lovely. I am almost half into Rise which is really making me want to do nothing but watch rugby! Rise and Jesus and John Wayne are some of my last for #NFNovember. Hoping to finish all 4 of these this week. Then onto December....

This is the last paragraph in this extraordinary book about an extraordinary person, and an extraordinary editor, Judith Jones. She advocated for & published Anne Frank, Sylvia Plath, John Hersey, Anne Tyler, Julia Child, James Beard, Edna Lewis, Sharon Olds, John Updike,Madhur Jafrey, among countless others. Some might find this biography rather dry, but I found it fascinating. #NFNovember #FirstListen

Bookwormjillk I am adding so many books to my list because of this challenge! 4d
kspenmoll @Bookwormjillk I get it! This challenge has helped me focus on my NF TBR- I read NF slowly & I should challenge myself to read 1per month… 4d

"may we all receive the help we need to make our lives a bit more bearable"

This biography is so well put together. I loved the mix of straight autobiography sections mixed with different medias - transcripts of interviews Alice has given, a couple of poems, & photos. You can feel her anger at some of the systematic issues & also clearly see her humor & good graces.
A well balanced and interesting read.

Bookwormjillk Oh that sounds really good 4d
ChaoticMissAdventures @Bookwormjillk it is! And great for anyone looking for disability rep books. Alice is the creator of the Disability Disability Project where disabled people are given a platform to talk about their lives. 4d

#TodayILearned what a terrible leader Henry III was. That's probably why there aren't many films or books devoted to him. Still, I'm really enjoying Costain's Plantagenet series. It's very readable, even if some of the feelings and thoughts the author attributes to these real-life characters might have involved some guesswork.

kwmg40 This book was an appropriate choice for the “Cursola: Read the oldest book on your TBR“ prompt for #gottacatchemall, as it had sat on my shelves for about 40 years! @PuddleJumper 5d

#NFNovember @Bookwormjillk

We are half into the month and I am half through my picked NF books! I feel like this month is going reall well for me.

Of the 4 I have read so far I loved The Facemaker, Think Men Who Hate Women is hard but necessary, The Art of Power fell a bit flat for me, and while Why FIsh Don't Exist was very good (4/5) I was really taken aback by the last quarter of the book.

4 more to go!

kspenmoll I am impressed! I finished 2 so far& one I began in October.. 1w
ChaoticMissAdventures @kspenmoll some NF can be so heavy it takes forever to get through. I picked mostly things I thought would be easier reads and that have been on my TBR the longest. It helped that I did 2 on audio. 1w
Bookwormjillk Great progress 🎉 1w
