pickI picked this up on a whim, and I‘m glad I did! Hard to put down, engaging, and full of useful information. Loved the trivia sprinkled throughout the book. I‘d still want a compass or GPS if I were in the jungle or dessert, but it‘s fun to try and apply the concepts in the book to my afternoon walks. Adds new layers of appreciation to the everyday sights around my neighborhood.

pickGood morning @Lynnsoprano . While I was putting away my stepson's books I noticed this one. I quickly read it since it seemed like something appropriate for your search for nature books. It is very short and may be considered a younger reading level than what you're looking for, but I loved it. It is about how trees are more than just trees, they make up other creatures around us including trout and even us humans. 🌳🍃🐟🐻

In my government research library the closest I could come to a nature book was this. Though I suppose I could go pull some fish and wildlife reports. Or maybe farming soil standards. Or I believe we have a few books about the nature of concrete. IDOT is currently arguing over them. Sounds so exciting doesn't it. #readjanuary #naturebooks.
Another #bookshelfie - this time with my father's bookshelf. As a forester he's more into nature stuff and criminal stories. Since most of my books are still at his house, he sometimes robs books from my collection. 😊 So some of the books you can see are actually mine.
