This was on a Christmas book list and when I got done I thought it was the most depressing Christmas story. Man, it's depressing no matter what time of year!

I enjoy the seasonal cozies in this series. They‘re not groundbreaking or anything, but they are nice, light reads. I did not guess the whodunnit, and the mystery was well done!

My last book of 2023. Comes out next week. Middle fiction story about a girl whose mother drags her out to live in a rainforest community. Lots of environmental themes as well as coming-of-age and identity. Looking forward to seeing Lani navigate her new world. #readingnotreviewing #summerholiday #nowchool #newyearseve
Finishing up this one as my last read of the year!😄 #wintereadathon @Andrew65 @DieAReader @GHABI4ROSES #newyearseve
A New Year‘s party gone awry. Jessica has been invited to an aristocrat‘s country weekend party in England and she invites her friend George from Scotland Yard. Upon arrival they immediately discover a death. Though it looks like a potential accident, something is off. An enjoyable read with a satisfying ending.
#NovemberNarrative Day 18: this lovely picturebook about an Asian American girl won the New Voices, New World contest as it captures the experience of ‘honoring a mixed heritage‘, the sense of pride in celebrating family traditions, and the comfort and joy of being home, surrounded by loved ones with lots of #Hugs. Our bedtime read for the night! 🌃 My boys really enjoyed this one and it made me really want to order dumplings. 🥟🎆
“Amanda Dade leads the parade“ in this rhyming New Year's picture-book from author Harriet Ziefert and illustrator S.D. Schindler.
This picture-book features a rhyming text with a repetitive sing-song structure, and striking artwork created using colored pencil and magic markers on midnight blue paper. Although not destined to become a personal favorite, it would make a good read-aloud for a New Year's story time.
Happy new year from me and Bunbun. We will be going into 2022 reading Ai Weiwei‘s memoir to stay clear of the virus. Stay healthy, safe and free my fellow book lovers! May happier times lay ahead of us 🍀🍾🎊
