So cozy. Flying through this one. Book #9 this year.
So cozy. Flying through this one. Book #9 this year.
A very soft pick for its cozy vibes. However, at places it was a little bland for me.
What a heartwarming book about coming into one's own and found family. The characters were absolutely enchanting (even grumpy Jamie). While the plot wasn't overly original, the book was well executed. Quite simply, it was a delightful read.
“She hadn‘t realized just how heavy her mask had been until she discovered what it was to live without it.”
This cozy palate cleanser I picked up has me reminiscing about all my witchy reads growing up. I think my queerness ached to find others who felt different before I even knew what I was seeking myself.
The quote goes on, “To be at Nowhere House was to put herself in very real peril, so why then did she feel safer than she ever had before?”
Sweet cozy story! Great read for winter ❄️ 🌨️☃️

Thank you @jenniferw88 can‘t wait to start this and I love Lindt. Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you @MaleficentBookDragon for hosting
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved this book! Somehow very appropriate to read at Christmastime, this was a cozy story of found family, learning to trust yourself & others, and a great witchy magic system.
Samara MacLaren is a wonderful audio narrator, so I would recommend listening to it.
I‘d definitely read more from Mandanna in the future. Highly recommend!
The Very Secret Society of Witches met on the third Thursday of every third month, but that was just about the only thing that never changed.

**my brother got me a kindle so I‘ve been blowing through some books without reviewing, apologies up top for the inundation of reviews by me and terrible pics**
This was every bit as good as you‘ve seen. Adored the characters and the plot. Have already recommended to many friends. 5⭐️
Cute, fun read. Odd backstory on origins of witches and their families. Heartwarming coming together of people to make a nontraditional family. Bit of romance. Lacked depth for me but enjoyable.
I absolutely loved this one! I was looking for something light and romantic and got far more than I expected!
Beautiful story about found family and how the world can always change, even if it is little by little.
I did not see the major plot twist coming😄

October Fiction #ReadingBracket2023 update
This witchy book stole the show for the month! But I can't choose between it and A Restless Truth just yet so putting a hold on that decision until later...
Okay add me to the long list of people who rave about this book. It was SO SWEET. It is the definition of cozy. I loved the girls, I loved the magic, I loved the romance. The conflict was there, but just low stakes enough to not ping my anxiety.
Just read this, if you haven't already. I'm so glad I own this book, I can see it becoming an annual reread.
Also I want some of Mika's tea ☕✨
@LadyCait84 I'm so in love with this box! All of these books have looked so good, I can't wait to read them! And those bookmarks are absolutely adorable! Thank you so much!

This is just a lovely little book, sweet and heartfelt and maybe just the right amount of silly. The perfect fall read, like a warm cup of tea on a chilly day.
This was cute. There was a plot point that irritated me, but by the end I didn't really care anymore. It's not the kind of book I feel like I should take too seriously, I guess? It was a sweet, quick read.
Our After Work Book Club met at a cute and cozy GrandmaCore bar that served Murdertinis - the perfect venue for this cute and cozy romance read! A solid choice for the #potion prompt for #ScarathlonPhotoChallenge

I get why everyone likes this book. It has a great cast of characters that are all well done, even the minor characters are thoughtful and fit with the story. The plot and prose are excellent. Even if you are not in to paranormal books you should read this book. 4.5 ⭐️

This felt like it was trying to be too many things at once. But I mostly enjoyed it despite this and its predictability. Will I remember it a year from now? Unlikely.
The House in the Cerulean Sea (to which this is often compared) is the better novel.

This was absolutely delightful! I‘d heard nothing but good things and I‘m so glad I decided to read it. A great story about witches for this time of year, but also a wonderful “found family” story.

I started this audiobook yesterday…really cute so far! And there‘s a #moon on the cover!

Like all witches, Mika Moon keeps her witchy powers a secret, until she is asked to teach three young witches all about magic. A cute seasonal romance with a found family that I picked up for a BuddyRead!

I am about 50% through this and it is so cute. A perfect cozy read for a rainy day in the PNW. #scarathlonphotochallenge #witch #blackcatcrew
Except for a completely unnecessary sex scene (I‘m not averse to them if they are well-integrated and necessary — this one is neither), I quite liked this story about a young witch, Mika Moon, who, after years of being alone and believing it always has to be that way, finally finds her place in the world. I started Finding Dorothy as my new walking book. #audiowalk
This was a cute story about found family. I never really understood James like at all. He would think one thing, go do the exact opposite and then think “why did I do that?” for the entire book. I think it would have been a much better book if the romance had been ditched entirely. 4⭐️
More walking today. Positive news about my brother, so that helped. When I go home next week, I won‘t feel the need to rush back so soon. This book is about so much more than witchcraft — it‘s also about loneliness and community. It fits my mood. #audiowalk
Just started this one tonight, I'm really enjoying it so far. Apparently I was painting so aggressively my watch thought I was exercising 😂 #ExtremeCrafts

I thought I posted this. Ooops.
1) the very secret society of irregular witches (I so enjoyed this light hearted fun read)
2).a weeks vacation with my husband in DC. (Please think no government shut down thoughts. As that will close everything we wanted to see. 😢)
My long list for my #scarathalon TBR! As usual the ones I actually read are heavily dependent on what‘s available on the days I go to the library ☺️ #BatBrigade 🦇 @Catsandbooks
Next read and Micheal Jai White. 😍 Love him!
I so loved this book. And this quote from the book. I wish the journey hadn‘t ended.
It wasn‘t a suspenseful action packed book. It wasn‘t a gushy romance (there was a little spice. More like a tangy bell pepper than a jalapeño pepper ?). But such a sweet story of learning to love and to be loved in return. And a story about finding a home.
I loved this quote. It just resonated with me.
#SummerEndReadathon book 5
It‘s a leap of faith to love people and let yourself be loved. It‘s closing your eyes, stepping off a ledge into nothing, and trusting that you‘ll fly rather than fall. 😍😍😍
I was talking to my niece, who‘s going through a divorce from a man who was verbally/mentally abusive to her. Reading this today…. I had to immediately text her these words.
#popupthursday
Which one do I start with? I have an hour until I need to start dinner and get ready for work. 30 minutes in each? 🤣🤣🤣
My current book (wellll one of the three that I am currently reading). Squeezing in some reading on “national read a book day”. And my dog is not a fan of it. (Mainly because I am using him as a book prop 🤣). What are you reading tonight?
Cute book - cozy, witchy, some romance. Similar vibes as House in the Cerulean Sea, but not quite as good.
