Basics of Biblical Hebrew Workbook: Third Edition | Gary D Pratico, Miles V Van Pelt
post image

I‘ve been absent for a long time… this has been what has pulled me. I‘m attempting to learn Hebrew!
I‘ve been in a different place since I had surgery again this past November. Cancer has been difficult to battle and my latest chemo treatment has been by far the worst. So distracting myself with something complicated has been good for me. I miss everyone and this community so I‘m going to try to get to being active again, 💕📚💕

SamAnne Wishing you a strong recovery. Cancer is a life changer. I‘m in remission after surgery/radiation but declined chemo for time being to soak in a year of travel and living life to the fullest against doctor advice. New scans next month when I return from Mexico! Good for you learning Hebrew! I plan tackle Spanish in 2024 to keep positive thoughts about returning to Mexico in 2025, I suspect Hebrew is a bit more challenging. 😳😁 3mo

Used this as a devotional companion to morning Bible study time. It‘s a wonderful guide to how to use the book of Psalms as a guide for prayer.

As I am nearing the bottom of my #AHRS candy bag I noticed some goodies I didn‘t catch on opening day. Thank you @MaleficentBookDragon for these awesome stickers and candy cleavers. So cool!

MaleficentBookDragon You are welcome. I bought myself some Micheal Myers candy. 6mo

This is actually pretty interesting. I learned stuff. And the arguments are well thought out and explained. The "kids" at work read interesting things. I never would have picked this up but one of them handed it to me.

The last 30 or so pages of this book were the most impactful on me. Hesed is a difficult term to define but is central to God's character and ours. Hesed is more easily defined in action than in words.

This book had a slow start for me that I would have stopped if not an audiobook but I understand why the author set it up the way she did. I really appreciated the way sex, childbirth and menstruation were portrayed in this story. Since this book was originally recommended to me by my grandma when I was 15 I was surprised by the amount of sex talked about in the book, but nothing graphic. Soft pick because it did reel me in.

I wasn‘t really sure I liked this book enough to continue listening but didn‘t want to take the time to find a different book. Well, I‘m finally at a point where I want to keep listening and it‘s almost over. Hoping to finish this book either tonight or tomorrow!
