“Many who are working among the suffering…thought they were going as the benefactors but they invariably found themselves being helped and liberated themselves.”

(Just one of the insights from this book that resonates with me. This little book is one of my favorites as well as the book of Job in the Bible is my favorite.)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A great nonfiction read that shows just how important it is for kids to get outdoor free time to play and use their imaginations. I really learned a lot reading this eye opening book. The number of kids that are becoming weaker and having more problems with health due to lack of outdoors time is truly sad. I remember spending a LOT of time outdoors as a kid. Growing up running around my backyard making up elaborate play schemes.

I liked the first part of the book better than the second half. it all tied together nicely in the end, I suppose, but I initially found the bits about Egypt a bit disjointed compared to the first half. overall it was an enjoyable read.

dabbe I didn't see this until now! See, your words make us glide over your thoughts effortlessly! I once did an assignment with my students where I had a paragraph and ALL OF THE VOWELS were missing. They were able to figure out what was being said perfectly. That's what our brains have trained us to do. We see the syntax of the sentence, figure out the word, and move on. 🖤🐝🖤 3mo
