Okokok. Last post and I gotta get back to work.

You know what's really f***ing cool? When you find out your new apartment and other buildings in your new neighborhood were built by the Clamorgan family--an interracial family that developed much of early St. Louis. Check out this description! 👆 I have a feeling this will be all sorts of fabulous. I suddenly found my #ReadHarder #SetInYrCity book!

I live just north of Toronto where these stories are set. I find it fascinating to read about places I often visit but take for granted. And these are pretty good books too! #day13 #setinyrcity #readjanuary

This series was seriously the best! I only have the first and last one and not even the same design, which sucks, but both have appealing fonts! #fortheloveoffonts

I didn't do #setinyrcity year's because all the books I've read thus far set in Portland have been underwhelming. I could go with my previous city, Dallas, but haven't read anything set there. Suggestions, anyone??

Lovely Edinburgh (or Auld Reekie as it is also known) has a long literary history. Here are just a few books for #setinyrcity #ReadJanuary. It's odd how many of these have and orange and white colour scheme

saresmoore 😍 I would like to read one set in Edinburg for a reading challenge (a place you'd like to visit). Do you have a favorite? 8y
vivastory Are you planning on reading Trainspotting 2? @Moray_Reads 8y
Moray_Reads @vivastory I confess I haven't read/seen the original, it doesn't appeal but it was too famous an Edinburgh book not to include it! 8y
Moray_Reads @saresmoore Lots of Robert Louis Stevenson's books have at least parts set in Edinburgh, I'd recommend those. Or the Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. I didn't particularly like 44 Scotland Street but there are some painfully true portraits of the kind of people that live in Edinburgh. Some stereotypes have a kernel of truth 😂 8y
saresmoore @Moray_Reads Thanks! That is certainly true about some stereotypes. I'll try to keep hold of my untarnished admiration. :) 8y

#setinyrcity Without Remorse is the only book I have that's listed as taking place in Baltimore. This is the hubby's book and I haven't read it so I don't know too much about it. Blood and Chocolate is one of mine, and is a werewolf story set in Maryland. #readjanuary @RealLifeReading

bookandcat If you want another book set in Baltimore, I recommend Baltimore Blues by Laura Lippmann! 8y
JessClark78 @bookandcat Thanks. I'll add it to my TBR. 🙂 8y
Bookzombie @bookandcat I was just going to same thing! In a later book in the series, the main character comes to San Antonio where I live. 🤓Just for a case though. (edited) 8y

I couldn't find any books set in Nashville that I have read, so I chose one that I recognized. #readjanuary #setinyrcity #day13 @RealLifeReading

Day13 #readjanuary #setinyrcity I feel like I've shown most of my books set in Honolulu/Oahu on Litsy but here's two nonfiction Hawaii history books. I'm currently listening to 'Countdown to Pearl Harbor' on Overdrive (although I'm about an hour in & starting to think print would work better for me). 'Lost Kingdom'-about Lili'uokalani, the last queen & Hawaii's annexation is in my Kindle TBR stack. I like learning all I can about the history here.

Pickpick

This was the first series I begged my mom for as a child! Adenville,Utah where these books are set, doesn't exist. But Price, Utah is the author's home town and it's not too much of a stretch to think there's some connections between the fictional town and Price. So this is my pick for #SetInYrCity. #SetInYourCity #ReadJanuary @RealLifeReading

Krisjericho You're in Price?! I'm in Roy, up by Ogden. :) 8y
the.bookish.valkyrie @Krisjericho Nice! I worked with a few people from Roy when I lived in SLC! (edited) 8y

I have been wanting to get my hands on this book since I heard Lucian Perkins and Alec MacKaye on the Kojo Nnamdi Show on WAMU. It's been almost 4 years and I think I may finally treat myself to this book. I need this. #washingtonDC #punk #readjanuary #setinyrcity #setinyourcity

this post-apocalyptic novel (modeled by Sofia) is set in Colorado, and my hometown of Grand Junction plays a small but crucial part in the story. I liked it very much, though it did make me cry 😭🐕🌟#readjanuary #setinyrcity @RealLifeReading

Lynnsoprano @wonga She's beautiful! We had two greyts over the years, but lost the last one two years ago to bone cancer at age four. Haven't gotten over the heartbreak enough to get another dog. I just love up everyone else's❤❤ 8y
wonga @Lynnsoprano i'm so sorry 😕 (edited) 8y
Bloomingjen I loved this book. I got in on my ebook which I usually only use right before going to sleep. I had a couple of nights with very little sleep finishing it. I cried also. 8y
