The characters in this crime novel, and the reader too, are asking “What in the hell is going on?” Gory crime scenes with White and Black corpses… but the Black ones keep disappearing. The two Black special detectives sent from the state capital have their work cut out for them untangling the mysteries in a redneck racist backwoods part of Mississippi. These two men are deadpan hilarious. The central issue of the novel is dead serious. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Summer is half over and there are still So. Many. Books. I want to read. Almost done with The Premonition, which, like all Michael Lewis books, is just so stinking good. In this particular case, it‘s wonderfulness is even more astounding, as it‘s pandemic-related, and books are where I usually turn to *escape* thinking about the pandemic. #somanybooks #summerreadingstacks

We moved into our house at the end of Oct. I started putting my library together in mid Nov. Man Cub decided he didn‘t like his area of the basement and we switched in Dec. some time. It‘s now mid April, I‘m hoping to finish putting my library/office together this week. I‘ll let you know how it goes.
