Typical Neil Gaiman. Well written, and keeps the wonder of being told mainly from a child perspective while not being written childishly.

This last book BROKE ME. I too cried so hard I got a headache! #iykyk #sarahjmaas #throneofglass
20 of 25 done!
Hard to believe not even 4 full months into the year and already 20 books of my yearly goal of 25 done. I‘m not even sure I have read 20 books before this year in the previous 5 years!
When you have your next 18 books picked and so many more to add to the list! #somanybooks #solittletime #toread
This book was written by someone II work with. It‘s sweet, uplifting and will make you want her family to adopt you! #memior #goodadvice #sweet
I was not a fan of Aelin‘s character arc in this one (no spoilers) I just felt the book could go for shock factor without her STILL not sharing information. I liked Lorcan‘s and Lysandra‘s arcs! Overall one of the better books in the series. —- Book 19 of my 25 in 2025 I need a break from this series to digest. So I think I‘ll do a few mysteries next.

So my Litsy friends. Which one should I start with, which should I skip?

My self imposed ban from the library is over. Hoping I get these back on-time!

The Assassin and the Desert. This one hurt. Well told and interesting but made my heart hurt a little.
The Assassin and the Pirate Lord - Pretty good but it left me not lifelong young Calaena much, even with the good deed she did. #tog
Besides the overkill exposition and similarity in the CaIaena/Chaol and Aelin/Rowan dynamics, I liked this book better than the second book. I think the flipping between characters AND locations is what made this book more dynamic than the first two.

Feeling that this 3rd book is recycling tropes from the first book. Brooding person to help “train” her. A test. She has to prove herself. Plus after 2 full books, I can say that there seems to be too much exposition in these books. A lot of telling vs showing.

Book 2 is underway. I am enjoying this more than the Crescent City series but not as much as #acotar yet.

Here we go again… another Sarah J. Maas series to get hooked on.
Am I going to love this #hollyblack series? Chapter 2 of the first book and so far it‘s pretty good. I am worried that reading something with a similar cast of species (fae) so soon after Court of Thorn and Roses is going to confuse them in my mind.

WHAT NEXT?? I can‘t seem to get into House of Wind & Breath so what‘s next? These are the books read this year so far. I like 🔎Mystery, 🧝♀️Fantasy 📜historical fiction and anything really! LOOKKNG FOR RECOMMENDATIONS

Good pacing, interesting twists but I was able to see some of them coming. Good, fun and quick read.
Just can‘t get into this like I did Wicked. Something is just not hitting the same. Has anyone felt the same? Read the others? Maybe I skip this one and go to the next?

I have never been one to have 2 books on the go at once but here I am now…

Taking a fantasy break to read this Walmart find. Ashley Flowers (Crime Junkie & “All Good People Here”) gave it a back of the book review so here‘s hoping I love it!
Has anyone else read this?

“My crown was crafted of silver and diamond, all fashioned into swirls of stars and various phases of the moon. Its arching apex held aloft a crescent moon of solid diamond, flanked by two exploding stars. And with the glittering dress from Starfall”
It was a pretty good mystery with an interesting back and forth between 1982/2017.
I really really liked this one more than the first. I actually like that they showed how the character arc for Tamlin went. I like that Feyre has become more badass.

I did NOT want to like this book but gots say I am hooked! #acotar #sarahjmaas #fantasy
And so I have begun the ACOTAR series I keep being told about. Am I going to like it?

Just finished Fragile Threads of Power and loved this continuation but was not overly enthralled by the White London story line.

Half way through book 3 for the year. This is a re-read of WICKED. I read the original in 2001, before the musical and well before the movie based on the musical that was based on the book. I shall be adding the other books in this series to my reading list.
Am I the only one counting down the days until this release?
13 more days!!!

Loved the Darker Shades series and excited to start Fragile Threads of Power for book 2 of 2025 on my challenge to read more fiction. Maybe I should have gotten the cover that matches the others better 🤔
Probably my favourite exchange in the whole book. Made me laugh out loud.
“She makes a good point,” Andarna agrees. “Can you carry a luminary?”
“That question insults me.”
“Can you carry a luminary while insulted?” she prods.
Tairn growls.
