I‘m about a quarter of the way into Sorcerer to the Crown, and I get the feeling a lot of Zen Cho‘s work up to the start of chapter eight has been to get her key players together. I like the humor in the story, thus far. That was unexpected. On the downside, a lot of the “proper” behavior by the key players, while appropriate to the setting, undercuts the building tension. #ERMadLibs #fantasy #ZenCho #SorcererToTheCrown
There‘s a nice twist at the end of the first scene of chapter one. That said, I‘m finding Zen Cho‘s writing style requires a little getting used to. The formality of it fits with the setting.
